The Pom-Poms are not a last minute decoration. These are time consuming, but worth it, can be done while watching your favorite tv show. I wanted the Pom-Poms to dress up a teen's basement bedroom. The basement is painted yellow, orange and white. In the picture the Pom-Poms looked orange, pink, and white, so it's my fault for not reading that the "orange" is really tan, but it still matches the basement well. The Pom-Poms come flat, folded, in a plastic wrap. When taken out of the plastic wrap, the Pom-Pom is still folded with a string wrapped around the middle. I know the purpose of the string, but it doesn't say anything in the directions about the string. You determine what you want to do with it. You might want to buy a package of white push tacks to attach the sting to wherever you want to attach it. Unfolding the tissue Pom-Pom is not easy. I ripped the 1st one. I wanted to shred it but by the time I was finished with it, I felt a little less frustrated about it. They look good now and they are stay up forever. I can definitely see how these would look fantastic at a wedding or anniversary party. I originally gave this a 4 star out of my frustration, but after thinking about it, I decided that wasn't fair, the product didn't fail, I did, and I got better after a few attempts. Really take your time to do this right.
