My recommendation would be that is works best on long hair.

I have fine hair. It's portrayed as easy as brushing your hair. This product was cumbersome and not quick to use. I had to go over the same spot multiple times and literally hold my hair end press the brush in and pull. This led to pulling out hair and missing the sections closer to my head. Amending prior review. I've had this unit for around six months and am not happy that it is falling apart. The red tips are all falling off and expose metal heating rods. The black plastic tines around the edges began falling off the first month of use. I use this three to four times a week for about ten minutes per use. So, you can ascertain how well it was made. Also, I spent less than twenty dollars and now feel I spent too much as it will need to be replaced, but certainly not at a higher price point.
