Review: Quieted down the noise - Took my tele to a recording studio and it was so noisy they made me use one of theirs. Embarrassing to say the least. Did some research and these floated to the top of the list. Swap out was so easy I did it in less than an hour! Be careful to use the longer pickup wire for the neck pickup or you will do it twice like me lol. Post upgrade, zero noise, they sound great not going to lie they did lose one of their character but I don’t care it went from unusable back to my number one. If I somehow lost this guitar I would get another and replace the pickups with these in a heartbeat.

After watching a few vids on YouTube, I chose the EMG's. After playing with them for a few days now, here are my thoughts: The pros: -Solderless setup (I can solder well enough to install a passive pickup and get it to work but I'm not a professional by any means and I'm not confident enough in my soldering skills to wire a dual pickup setup) -The tone (I've played with it mainly using my cheap fuzz pedal and you can get a variety of tones from the classic clean "Tele twang" to some pretty sick stoner/doom metal tones when you run them through high-gain fuzz) -The selector switch (both clean and dirty, you get three distinctly different sounds from each of the three switch positions) The cons: -Battery-powered (I don't like having to change batteries but you know what you're getting into amd accept it when you choose active pickups) -Possible modifications to your guitar (I had to take a wood chisel and a hammer to carve put a cavity deep enough to fit the battery and I had some slight issues threading the neck pickup cable through the body; not EMG's fault since not every Tele (or custom Tele-style build) is the same; expect to possibly have to break out a few tools) All in all, I would recommend this set to anyone who would like to add some "oomph" to their Tele. You can get the classic Tele sounds but you can also get some pretty aggressive tones when you use distortion. I'm happy with this set.

**Q: Are these pickups passive or active**
A: The EMG T pickups are active.  The 9 volt battery fits underneath the control plate (with the switch and volume/tone knobs).

**Q: Is it possible to hook a S-1 switch up to this? I don't thing it will be needed however it would be interesting to hook up two emgs to a series wiring**
A: No, it will void any warranty and EMG has truly mastered the active pickup, I know some wanna Frankenstein things but this isn’t one of those your gonna want to mod.

**Q: Does this include a solderlesss input jack? if not, does emg offer something like that that fits this set?**
A: Yes, the kit included everything you need to install the pickups. The only tool I needed, other than a Phillips screwdriver, was a drill to widen the wiring channel from the pickup cavity (the solderless connector was a bit wide for it).

**Q: Will I still have to solder the bridge ground wire?**
A: No ground wire required with this system.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ EMG for Tele

This EMG is really great. This price is THE lowest I could find. I ended up having to route out the cavity deeper under the Control plate to fit the battery. But I expect some retro fitting for every guitar project. Funny but haven't gotten around to playing the clean Tele tones yet. I've only tried it through a Marshall and it's really strong playing Rock / RB.
