Lemon Sunset Rooibos Loose Leaf Tea is a strong, bright rooibos with lemon grass and lemon peel and naturally caffeine free. A complex and powerful flavor profile, this Rooibos has the natural essence of sun kissed lemons with a tart, citrus edge softened by calendula petals, lemongrass and natural flavors. We think this tea is best served hot. Naturally caffeine-free. Rooibos is a direct translation from Afrikaan meaning “red bush” and is a natural herb which grows around 1,500 to 2,000 feet above sea level in the Cedarberg Mountains of the Western Cape of South Africa. Rooibos seeds are planted during February and March then tended for 18 months. The entire bush is harvested, cut and milled to a uniform length before bruising between rollers which triggers the oxidation process. This turns the tea from green to its characteristic reddish brown color and develops a natural sweet aroma. Our Rooibos has a soothing effect on headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns and digestive or colic problems. Many of our daily recommended nutrients can be derived from hot or iced cups of Rooibos, such as Iron, Copper, Zinc, Magnesium, Fluoride, Manganese and Sodium which means healthy skin, teeth, bones, blood and metabolic functions. Does this all sound too good to be true? We don’t think so, and we drink a ton of Rooibos at Local Tea Company, and we are all very healthy specimens! 20 to 25 cups of tea can be made from 2 oz of loose leaf rooibos. We also suggest steeping our Rooibos multiple times for even more cups of great tea. BREWING INSTRUCTIONS Prepared like tea, these gems contain no tea leaves. All blends are caffeine-free, except for the Mate. Use boiling water, (Mate should use water at 176) infusions can be steeped up to 10 minutes depending on personal preferences. All teas are sold in 2oz packets from which 20-25 cups of tea can be brewed, unless otherwise noted. Store in a dry place.
