**Q: Is this durable?**
A: The pole is very durable. The clamps to adjust the length hold tight and the yellow grip is very comfortable. I'm very pleased with my purchase and will get lots of work done with it.

**Q: What is the diameter of the bottom section without the tip**
A: Jim, I'm not positive what you are asking.  The diameter of the bottom tube (which is adjustable, slides in or out, then locks) is  .96 inches.  The metal piece at the end which is one piece containing the screw threads, is  1.04 inches.
