Splendid Florals Paperback – March 12, 2010

I ordered this booklet because of the cover photo! My favorite flower is the iris, and the purple one on the front of this booklet is dazzling. There are 4 floral portraits in this book, each one is rich in color and detail. I am looking forward to starting the iris, BUT one problem. The author/creator uses a combination of DMC and Anchor floss. Now, years ago I bought all DMC colors, a little bit at a time. But I have no Anchor floss and it is not sold at any of our local craft stores. There is a note in the book that says to use the colors listed, not to substitute. So I had to order the Anchor colors, at least I felt like my work would not look as good if I didn't, and you don't want to spend HOURS and hours stitching and then be dissatisfied with the finished item.

I ordered this book because I needed a pattern for a poppy, and was delighted when I recieved it. The shading and detail of the patterns are beautiful! The patterns are printed large enough to see clearly, and each flower pattern is divided into 4 differant pages. I was able to complete the picture with relative ease.

Very complex patterns but lovely.

I have been looking for a while now and finally found a lovely iris to cross stitch. I love the book!

I'm delighted with the beautiful designs and look forward to stitching them. Not for the faint of heart stitcher, but well worth the effort

It's okay. It has a variety of charts. I'm okay with it. The charts are very basic, not dramatic like some other cross stitch designs. so if you want just a simple cross stitch picture of an iris, rose, tulip or poppy, you might like book.

Beautiful and lifelike

This is a beautiful set of close up flower heads. Deep mauve iris, red/orange rose bud, dark red/deeper red poppy head & dark red/deeper red bunch of tulips. Simple designs but will look stunning when completed. Very good use of colour.Excellent charts for each design over several pages, very clear to read. Also back stitching is shown separately at end of each design, again very clearly defined.I have not seen a paperback large design booklet like this before but it is superb. Only 4 designs but for flower lovers it is ideal. Clear & precise. Wish I had known about this before as I really do think it excellent.

Beautiful flower cross stitch patterns

Just gorgeous...stunningly beautiful designs. now all I need is a 48 hour day to fit in all the extra stitching I want to do.
