Nice UL hammock! Full kit, with straps and carabiners, weighs in at 13.47oz
I have heavier hammocks (budget Yukon Double and my husband's Eno Double) that I've used for camping and backyard hangs and I was looking to gather an ultralight kit to reduce the weight while still having a budget setup and have options.BREAKDOWN OF WEIGHTThe hammock is "4 oz" according to the product listing. This may be true of just the fabric portion, but it doesn't factor in the weight of the gathered-end rope suspension leading to a higher base weight (sans carabiners).Hammock in sack WITH carabiners: 8.25 ozHammock in sack WITHOUT carabiners: 6.7 ozCarabiners: .78 oz each (total 1.56 oz)Straps (6 ft, fused ring on one end, other end sewn loop): 5.22 oz-------Total Lumber Sack kit with all original elements: 13.47 oz / 0.842 lbs-------I normally use 15ft x 1" webbing straps that each have one end sewn into a loop (purchased from Dutchware Gear). Easy to tie up the spare length that doesn't get used, you can hang in pretty much all areas, super adjustable and it's only 5.64 oz. And you get to rely on super sturdy, no-slip knots - fun! I found the 6ft straps surprisingly restrictive and awkward with the fused ring and after attempting a hang with them, I switched over to my Dutchware straps for better angles.I found the hang really nice and the hammock comfortable. Some hammock sellers list the full length as hammock fabric including the gathering rope on the ends which leads to issues with tall people having an uncomfortable hang due to a shorter than advertised length - Buffalo Republic reported the length correctly. Stretched slightly, the hammock fabric (minus the gathered rope) measured 9ft long (as advertised!). I'm 5'4" and found it comfortable. The carabiners were solid and the wire gate style. Make sure attachment points are at the large end of the carabiner, as the weight rating (which isn't marked on the carabiner) capacity is higher across that portion of the carabiner. Don't attach or allow weight bearing across the gate as it's much lower. I have two slightly lighter weight carabiners that I could potentially use or eventually do the amsteel + hooks and get even lighter and more compact.I wasn't a fan of the fused rings attached on the straps. They just look like a fail point waiting to happen through repetitive use or misuse. They do look fairly sturdy, but as I most likely will be using my existing 15ft Dutchware straps, I don't plan on using the original straps very often. I gain 9ft strap length for only an additional .42oz in weight - totally worth it. See one of my photos to see the rolled-up size comparison of the 6ft straps with rings versus my 15ft straps; not much difference when rolled up, but so much more length possibility! If you're a gear gal/guy and want to go super UL on this kit and get even lighter: switch out the gathered rope ends with amsteel suspensions or whoopie sling, use whoopie hooks or alternatives, etc.The orange color is great since I'll probably end up bringing it on Search and Rescue callouts (where our uniform is bright orange or navy), camping, backpacking, hiking and random days out. The weight is a little higher than stated due to them not factoring in the rope ends, but still low and really low if you switch out to amsteel continuous loops and end up ditching the carabiners for whoopie hooks. Go visit Dutchware Gear's website and marvel in the suspensions and many other options for hammock geeking out fun.

It is a perfect size for a backpack and its extremely light
I got this for my son and he absolutely loves it. It is a perfect size for a backpack and its extremely light. The carry bag is a little small, once you get it out of the bag, its a trick to get it back in. Also, the straps are in a separate, ziplock baggie, that you have to keep track of. I wasn't too fond of that. But it is what it is, I can live with it. The hammock itself is great though. It fits an adult just fine and if you get it for a kid or teen, it will fit them even better. I am happy with it so far.I received this item at a discounted rate for an honest review.

If you are looking for a super light compact hammock
If you are looking for a super light compact hammock, this is a good one. It is extremely light and packs up very small. This is a single hammock good for one person, but rated up to 375 lbs. I love the orange fabric and the thick straps and carabiners are nice. Happy with my purchase. This product was provided at a discounted price in exchange for my honest review.
