This is a great little thermometer and lasted far longer than we expected. We use it exclusively for outdoor grilling (Big Green Egg) and it was used at least twice a week for the past 4 years. We were careful when washing it to not get the control end wet and stored it properly. Very pleased with this purchase!

Best Meat Thermometer Out There! I tried so many meat thermometers before I found this one, and thank goodness I found this one. Not expensive, easy to use and read and works like a charm! Also, very accurate! What more could you ask for! I’ve even bought them for my adult daughters and they love them as well. Highly recommended!!

Here are the "good" and "bad" on this product...ADVANTAGES.1. The price is reasonable. At $11, it is competitive with most competing products..2. The features are ideal. It is light weight and narrow with an extra long probe. The screen is large with an ON/OFF button and a F/C temperature switch button. It automatically goes OFF after several minutes of inactivity, conserving battery power..3. The temperature is pretty accurate. It is off by one to a half degrees. . . . From my experience, no thermometer is completely accurate. Some previous purchases were off as much as ten to twenty degrees. So, this product's accuracy is acceptable..4. The temperature reading is fast. Just insert the probe into the meat. Press the top button. Within seconds, the temperature is displayed...DISADVANTAGES.1. It uses an expensive watch battery..2. Like competing products, the construction is flimsy and not waterproof. For these reasons, the expected life is not long, and its electronics will eventually short..3. The high user ratings are suspect - they are over inflated. These are due to many user reviews from people who were give free samples or discount prices...----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------..UPDATE: The unit was used less that 15 times within the past 11 months. On a recent rib roast, the liquid-based thermometer registered 105F, while the LOTEE showed 155F. When a slice was cut, the meat was raw. The product was great when it worked. When the unit malfunctioned after 15 uses, it became worthless!.I contacted the vendor on the above problem. It was still under warranty. So, a new one was send. The replacement was used on corned beef, and it demonstrated the advantages listed above. Assuming the unexpected short life was an anomaly, the product deserves its previous positive review minus a star for the stated problem. However if it goes bad again, my review will be revised to accurately reflect product quality.

I LOVE IT! Fast reading, good sized LCD display. I use it to take my temperature as all the electronic ones for medical use, are way too short and try to pop out of your mouth. Give a good accurate reading in about 15 seconds. Be careful as the tip is somewhat sharp. I bet it's also good for testing your steaks or other concoctions. Has a wide range!

It worked for a few months, after that no joy.

I purchased this product for obvious reasons. Felt it was compact and easy to use/read, with a long probe to get into the center of a piece of meat. Now after 2 years it is beginning of fail. I don't even use it that frequently. The on/off button is now cracked. The bottom half of the button is to change from C to F. When I turn it on, it changes the C and F. When I change the C or F, it turns the unit off. Pretty much worthless at this point.

Fast ship, quality product. It comes packaged very nicely in a box that includes a proper cover,a guide and a battery.Right out of the box, I tested the thermometer with a cup of water. It reads in celsius at first. Then i set it to fahrenheit by pressing the key.Operation is easy.Once set to fahrenheit,it keeps staying in fahrenheit when i turn it on again.And I appreciate the auto shutoff function, so i don't have to worry about wasting the battery.

This is the best food thermometer we've every owned. And it quick and accurate too. Much, much better than the other food thermometers. It's so quick to give you a reading that I didn't think it was working the first few times I used it. If you're thinking about this product I think you would be wise to buy it.
