Review: Super powerful! - I unfortunately had my Karcher of 7 years stolen by scrap metal thieves digging around in our rented skip and decided to then uncover stuff further up our drive which it was stored in. I bought this as a replacement which was the same price as the Karcher was but was rated to have almost 40 more bar of pressure than the Karcher so I decided to go with this Stanley pressure washer and try it out; especially as it came as a complete package with two nozzles, very long hose, snow foam lance, and have it all store on the unit itself. When I received the pressure washer and got it all out of the box, a small amount of assembly was required and it didn't take too long. I put the 'gun' together and got confused with the connection between the 'gun' and it's barrel/nozzle as the connection seemed loose. The instructions said this was intentional however and when under pressure seemed to secure itself. The wind-up spooling of the pressure hose seemed like a good idea on paper but when in practice feels more of an obstacle. To wind it up, I have to hold the entire washer with my knees so it doesn't tip over and then crank the tiny handle whilst feeding and twisting the hose around the spool. This was never smooth and took a few minutes and left me with bruised knuckles and cut fingers. You also can't have the hose plugged in and spooled ready to go, it has to be fully disconnected from the gun and unit. After this, I never used the spool function again and just wrapped it around the washer for storage. On my first test, I could feel that this washer was much more powerful than the stolen Karcher. I was glad I got this much pressure for the same price. The test was just to clean a small section of driveway and it easily removed the grime without even getting too close to the driveway. Both nozzles worked great for this. The next time I used it was to clean a car. I filled up the snow-foam lance with good quality foam mixture with water but despite the 150 bar of pressure absolutely NO foam came out of the lance no matter what I did. Just water with the soap mixed with it, no bubbles so it just rolls off the cat. That, and the connection between the bottle and the lance connection is only a half turn and isn't even watertight let alone pressure tight. I don't know if mine was defective or if they're all like this but this let me down a bit as washing cars is why I bought it. You'll have to buy a specific one that works for Stanley washers if you want one that works with this washer as Karcher ones are incompatible. Despite the snow-foam lance disappointment, the horizontal spray nozzle works great at rinsing cars of soap and grime from a good distance and blasts dirt off without hurting the paint. I recommend this pressure washer if you could benefit from the power but have a budget, but a higher quality Karcher washer would have been better if I had the budget for one. The fiddly bits and the lack of aftermarket for this washer could be a deal-breaker for some. Its much bigger than a Karcher but has a longer power lead and longer hose cable which makes it easier to use. The longer hose cable does not easily unravel or wind back up and cannot easily be done while the lance is connected.
