Great survival tool
The whistle is super loud and very distinct in tone so not hard to mistake. The flint works great as well highly recommend for anyone who is out in the wilderness often or as a survival tool to store away for emergencies.

Great addition to my camping kit.
Fire starter Fire Starter Stick with Striker Lanyard and WhistleGreat addition to my camping kit. There is nothing worse then thinking you have matches and you are out. It will clip right on to a ring or carabiner so it doesn't get lost. I keep candles in my car, northern Michigan winters, and this would be a good addition to the glove box also. This would be good for camping, hiking, bug out kits, and indoor fireplaces. I was surprised to find a whistle included and it was a nice perk. There is also a small ruler on the striker and a bottle opener. Two strikes and there are sparks. I would have like to have had a quick set of instructions on exactly how and where to strike, but I figured it out. This is a handy little gadget to have for anyone. It will always come in handy.

Easy to carry and useful survival tools!
The ferro rod and striker produced good consistent sparks after I worked off the layer of paint. The sparks should be able to start a campfire even in significantly wet conditions. It does take some effort to create the sparks which is typical for a ferro rod. On the striker is a concave surface which has teeth and can saw some tinder to use.The whistle is loud and high frequency which would be helpful in locating someone in important circumstances. These tools are an easy carry due because they are light weight and have a sturdy build.

Great little tool
This fire starter stick with striker is really neat. I am not a survivalist by any means but I like to watch the reality shows and always wanted to try to make my own fire. I just got some nice dry tinder together and got a spark pretty quick and eventually I got a fire going! Very exciting. Important to have if you go hiking or camping, just in case, nothing worse then thinking you had matches or a lighter and you don't, or you have matches but they get wet. The striker has a small ruler and the whistle can come in handy in emergencies. Also easy to clip onto my bag.I definitely recommend and will be buying one for a friend who is currently transforming his truck bed into a camper and plans to do a lot of camping this summer.....it's a perfect gift.

Perfect addition for hiking bag!
The fire starter is a great addition to our hiking and camping bag we have put together. They don't take up too much room and easily clip onto a key ring to keep them together and handy. The whistle works great and the fire starter sparks quick and is easy to use.
