Review: Meageal vintage bluetooth speaker... nice! - Okay, I wanted a bluetooth speaker but didn't want one that looked as if it were made by Mattel or dropped off by Skynet, and came across this one made by Meageal. "Retro" is right! This looks like a vintage gramophone that would need to be hand-cranked to play some equally vintage vinyl. :D At first I was a bit surprised by the price, but given the claims of copper this and brass that, I gave it a shot. What I was expecting was copper-flashed plastic or such, lightweight and flimsy, but this gramophone isn't that at all. It's a solid hunk of metal! Heavy, stout, solid, not at all flimsy. Color me impressed! Speaking of color, the base is a beautiful brushed-copper that looks "aged". Exposed areas are a bit brighter, and in the creases and recesses are darker areas. Edgework looks almost polished. Pictures just don't do it justice. The "flower" is more of a brass color that complements the copper, also a brushed finish. There's an ornate grille over the tweeter in the center, which is polished smooth. The face plate in front is where all the business is done. The USB port and line-in jacks are there, as is an array of 6 buttons to select various functions. More on that in a minute. As is clearly stated in the title, descriptions, etc., there's no actual turntable. What this is, is a bluetooth speaker plus. The "plus" part is that it also takes line-input (via 1/8" stereo cable, included), and also USB input from a flash-drive. The wall-wart type AC adapter powers the unit, and plugs in from behind. A rubber cap covers that port when not in use. Soundwise, one of the first things I noticed is a "subwoofer" on the bottom of the unit. It's exposed, no grille to protect it, so be careful to make sure you don't place the base over an object which could damage it (ashtray, car-keys, etc.) when setting it down. A pair of speakers (left/right) are on the sides of the unit, covered with a similarly styled grille as what covers the tweeter in the flower. Finally, there's the aforementioned tweeter. At first I was afraid that maybe the "speakers" on the side would just be ports, and mono sound produced by a full-range speaker at the bottom. Again, wrong. :D The woofer is just that, and there are indeed two separate speakers, one on each side. I had to find a song which clearly had good channel separation, and the intro to AC/DC's "Hell's Bells" fit the bill. Indeed, it's full stereo! I was almost subconsciously trying to find some sneaky cheap-out trick, but there wasn't any. :D Bluetooth worked flawlessly. It paired with my phone instantly. Line-input worked flawlessly as well, plug'n'go. I didn't try the USB port yet, as I'd need to throw some albums onto it and see how it'd work, so I can update this section later. Front-panel controls are on/off/mode, pause/play, previous, next, volume-down, and volume-up. Simple. You can also control everything right from the phone as I did. Sound quality is pretty good given the size of the unit. The four speakers (woofer, tweeter, two midranges) put out some impressive volume. Obviously it's not going to be audiophile quality sound, but the speakers do a good job. The woofer especially gives the sound a bit more oomf on the lower end. If I had to find something to complain about, it might be that the "flower", while secure, rotates a bit too freely. I don't know if that's by design, to be able to "aim" it in a particular direction, but just brushing it with a finger or tilting the unit a bit can get it to swivel. (The flower has to be aimed left/right for it to be inserted or removed, and is otherwise held captive by two "Frankenstein bolts" on the pointy end, so it's not about to just fall out or anything.) AEsthetically, it's almost artwork. The combination of copper and brass is spot-on. Fit and finish is excellent. The brushed texture should keep fingerprints from messing with the appearance. This is no toy, but a nice solid accent to any room. Its vintage and retro appearance would impart a touch-of-class to any room, too, as long as the room isn't some chrome-and-glass nightmare. :D So, all in all, it's impressive! Good quality sound, hefty and solid, and stunning to look at. That about sums it up. :D Nicely done!
Review: Overall quality of the sound and build - very good - Well, I wasn't sure of what to expect. Initially the metal, weight, and sturdiness were impressive, and the copper look and feel is nice. As soon as my wife and I connected it up to a phone and started playing tunes, I was blown away by the sound quality even at high volume. I've been using it for 2-3 days now, mostly off a USB flash drive with an ol' mix from the 70's thru 2000's and it's doing great! Even had it out in the 30F's temps in the garage for a few hours and not a problem. Some details: at the base it measures 6.5" by 6.5", with the actual 'box' structure 5" by 5" - pretty compact system. There's stereo speakers on the sides, a sub-woofer on the underside, and even another treble speaker through the megaphone. They call the megaphone 'pure copper' but it appears to be brass - the Chinese typically get the English confused. The megaphone base is most likely plastic, along with the fake black record surface - but that's it! The rest is all high quality finished metal. I find the controls easy to use - those buttons across the brass looking face plate are in order: power/device selection, Pause/Play, Prev, Next, Vol+, and Vol-. The icon/labeling could be easier to read but that might take away from the retro look. The volume ramps up/dn nicely. There’s a blue LED under the power button that blinks when it’s playing. The megaphone can be rotated around – it has two metal contact pins that go against circular contact on a PCB to maintain the electrical connection as it rotates. The manual states 15W per stereo channel, and that could be accurate – it has lots of power and maintains the sound quality. Overall it’s an excellent value and looks great anywhere you put it. Video and pics attached.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A beatiful piece for your decor - very functional gramophone style player /4 speakers
*by M***E on November 6, 2019*

I like this product. Hesitant at first, I still pulled the trigger and don't regret it a bit, it fits right into my home with its stylish retro look and has tons of functions. Bluetooth speakers with a subwoofer and a separate treble speaker, direct wired connection via standard mini jack cable from an external power source, USB-interface TFT card with mp3 music controlled at a touch of a button on the device, USB charging of external devices - an array of ways to listen to your favorite music! The music quality is really nice, it can get quite loud, enough for a phone music party. It is to be permanently plugged in for power, and has no spot for batteries, but really not intended to be used outside or taken places - see if it sets in nicely into your home's décor and stay there. The subwoofer is at the bottom, in my opinion will excite the surface its on to resonate even more for that extra oomph, the removable rotatable horn is a nice feature, but the little treble speaker is located inside the horn, so keep that in mind. Very nice detail and finished surface, but not too much detail, just right, very nice machining, an all around nice piece of art! No issues connecting to Bluetooth whatsoever . Of course, no actual gramophone capabilities - the turntable is for the looks only. Not for everyone, due to the specific looks but if you are into that, this is your game. over and out - watch the video review for more information.
