I love this item. Very sturdy.

I've used this spoon once to make a roux. I liked the manuverability and sturdy handle, but the plastic spoon itself developed rough edges on the tip with one use. I had to use a steel pot scrubber to smooth it down enough to avoid scratching my nonstick pans. Not sure it's a keeper.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I love these square end spoons. They are the absolute best when cooking. I liked the first one I purchased so much I bought more. I know that I am old because now I have a favorite spoon for cooking.

I had been on a QUEST for a spoon with a flat edge that was sturdy enough to use when browning meat but also had a good serving spoon section that wouldn't melt or fall apart etc "Like the one I used to have forever, you know, so it wouldn't take six utensils to make chili" for my fiancé. THIS IS IT! The handle is long enough and comfortable to hold, the angle on the flat edge is fine, the spoon section is deep enough, and it holds up to browning meat in a cast iron pan without melting. And it washes without issues. Be busy, it can be used in non-stick pans. I HIGHLY recommend it.

This handle is good for my bad hands. I also love the straight edge on the spoon. It makes breaking up food while cooking so much easier than using a full round spoon. This feature also makes it gentler on the hand, less pressure is needed. I have several of this company's products.
