Discover your path to inert peace with ZenLinerTM. Everyone agrees that fused quartz is the ideal material for liners because it has 1/500th of the heavy metals content, 1/3200th of the total metals content and 1/5600th of the surface silanol content of borosilicate glass. If you are confident that your deactivated liner is masking 100% of the inherent activity and reactivity of your liners throughout their lifetime, keep buying them. Or consider our SilicoNert® 2000 deactivated fused quartz if you have to be absolutely sure. The advantages of fused quartz go well beyond inertness; with 10% lower density, lower specific heat and >25% greater thermal conductivity, fused quartz also vaporizes your sample ~40%more efficiently. Quartz is much harder than borosilicate so it packing materials don't scratch it and if you load and unload liners hot, fused quartz has thermal shock resistance of 1100C versus 160C for borosilicate. Finally, the nasty secret of borosilicate liners is that the upper use temperature for normal service (230C) is lower than many injection port temperatures where Quartz may be used at up to 1250C, continuously. Packaged in a screw capped borosilicate test tube and wrapped in foil to exclude organic contaminants and permit hands-free installation.
