4 months and it's lights out for this lantern. Don't buy.

This little lantern is AWESOME! I purchased it to replace the lantern carried by a figurine in my garden that had stopped working. It's a little larger than the one it replaces, but it's not too oversized for the racoon figure I'm using it on, and boy does it give a wonderful effect! It's not easy to properly imitate the flickering flame of a candle with an electric light, be it incandescent or LED, but these folks NAILED it perfectly. From any more than a dozen feet away it's impossible to tell it's not a real candle flame. Even up close it fools a lot of folks. The battery life is also quite good. Where I have it the solar cells only get direct sunlight in the afternoon and evening, yet it works all night long, offering a friendly greeting to anyone coming up my front walkway.About the only bad thing I could say about this lantern is that the protective plastic which covers the solar cells during shipping, and which you have to peel off, only peeled off easily from one of the solar cells. On the other one it's glued tight, and any attempts to peel it result in just small chunks of it coming off. The first side peeled perfectly, coming off easily in a single piece, but this second side, I fought with it for over an hour and only managed to get about a quarter of it off. It's on there so well that I seriously wondered if it was meant to stay on, but when it does come off the cell underneath is clear and well protected in its epoxy resin shell, just like the other one and just like every solar cell I've seen of this type. It's a mystery to me why it won't peel properly, but it doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the lantern so I'm leaving it on.

these little lantern work perfectly for my use.i adhered 1 on each end of my parents head stone and they look nice and not large or odd looking.they do not run as long when daytime has continuos cloud cover and cold weather which affects solar charging time.but i have seen 6-8hrs run in those conditions.during winter/colder but very sunny days i have seen quality run time of 11hrs and still working but very dim around 6am(coming on around 5pm and are quality until at least 3am or 10hrs) i bought a 4pk and i put the other 2 at flower garden sites in our yard,where some of my beloved pets are interned.this is also how i monitor the function of these lanterns and judge how they should be working at my parents grave site.it has only been a month or so during rather cold winter weather,but they flicker very well and look great. the 1st photo lets you see how they look and 2nd photo is w/out flash but lanterns are much brighter at night to the naked eye.i can see them from about 100+ft away.i will not hesitate to buy again.

These cute little lanterns are perfect for a shepherd’s hook. They are very light weight and attractive. That also come with a clip as are easily attachable just about anywhere.

I never write reviews. But I feel compelled. We LOVE these lanterns. Have ordered three times. They are decoration only. Will not illuminate enough to be considered a light. But for ambience they're spectacular! They're solar powered, so put them up and be done. They have a twinkle candle effect that is very pleasing. We put about 25 total hanging from trees across our property. At night it is a twinkle wonderland! Their performance depends on the amount of light they get, but I've always been shocked at how long they go considering the shady environment we have. - But what I most wanted to point out is that I left every one of them on their bare tree branches through our Michigan Winter. Exposed to the freezing air, freezing rain, snow, and wind. Not one has yet stopped working. Just sayin'...

It looks nice and price ok, but it can be only use as decoration. It doesn’t produce enough light to use it for that purpose. It very deem , it’s hard to see what it’s on ur plate. I don’t recommend it if u want to use it as a source of light.

I wanted these lanterns as mood lighting, so I wanted them to look like candles. Even the "soft white" is much whiter than candlelight, though. They're not bad lanterns, and I'll use them, but their light clashes with the other ones I have.I haven't had a chance to use them outside yet. They seem like they'll be reasonably weatherproof.I like the switch and the battery access panel on the bottom.

Love these little lanterns. Thanks to other reviews, I knew they would be small, so that was not a surprise. They work pretty well, giving a flickering candle look. They seem to recharge nicely. I only wish they came (1) a little larger and (2) a little brighter. They are not very bright, so while they are nice at providing atmosphere, they are not useful for providing much light. They make a cute tabletop decoration, though. Only real drawback is that they are a little on the expensive side for their size. I would buy more to line the stairs to my back door, but that would be just a little too much money. All in all, though, I really like them.

Over priced and a waste of money. I have had lantern now for 5 weeks and its week light has now reduced to almost nothing after an 1 and a half. From there this almost nothing light lasts a few hours but it is so week that it is hardly noticeable. Made of entirely plastic it looks good, but it is more of an ornament than a light.
