Decent Christmas CD
It is a decent Christmas CD, but not the best. I love the Baseballs so I want to support them by buying their albums. They sing well, but it doesn't blow you out of the water.

A retro Christmas
The Baseballs release another spectacular album featuring their retro/rockabilly style to both familiar and unfamiliar Christmas songs. I highly recommend this album.

Love This CD
The Baseballs hit a home run once again! They dial down the rockabilly a little bit in reverence of the holiday season, but excel nonetheless.

It's good, but I expected more with this group.
Strike!, their debut album, came across as the perfect cover album because they applied their own theme to the songs and simply made them better. They chose an excellent selection of songs, and every one is simply more energetic and more alive than the originals, and I can't think of one track that performed the mortal cover band sin which is slowing down the pace of an already famous song (Ever hear a cover by Susan Boyle? I have to think long and hard for examples where slowing a song actually works.) Strike! was such a strong album, but then it seemed like their follow-up Strings and Stripes! stumbled with poorer selection of tracks and a large number of live recordings that end up causing me to remember the album as having far more live tracks than it actually has. Live recordings just come across second rate to me and are only suitable for an album once the band has released a professional studio recording of the track on a prior album. The tracks on Good Ol' Christmas are quality tracks, but none stand out and the overall album sounds mediocre. With Christmas songs being classics and many of which already happy and upbeat, I was expecting this pool of material to result in an album that easily matches Strike!, but it doesn't. Again, the music is great and if you like Christmas music you will enjoy it, but when you've heard what this band has done in the past and compare it against this album you will find it lacking because it is so mellow and safe.

Brilliant
One of the best christmas albums. i absolutely love this and recommend it wholeheartedly. Some beautful songs that may not be overly Christmassy but worth a listen!

Brilliant, underrated German band.
Excellent band. German musicians who take contemporary songs and re-write them to a Rock n Roll beat. They always produce original interpretations of contemporary songs.
