Knife Set,Kitchen Knife Set - 5 Piece Knives Sets Including Carving Utility Chef and Paring Knives,Super Sharp Chef Knife Set with Gift Box

Had a set of these for about a year now. For the crazy low price, really hard to complain about anything. They've held up well, but I only ever hand wash them, so that helps. I think I had to sharpen the utility knife a time or two... really, just ran it across a 'burr fixer' tool... not talking getting out any whetstones. I use that knife to open a lot of plastic food packages, probably not the kindest use either... so, it's held up well all things considered.They cut when I need things cut and they don't require a lot of effort to do so.I bought this set on a whim after seeing one of those 'deal of the day' things on some ad-crawl. I liked the horizontal tang design. I don't know if the bolster is really all solid metal, but these have a pretty good weight and feel when using them. They don't feel light and cheap in the same way some of those 'springy' serrated cheap knives do.Maybe they're made of recycled Burmese soda cans.. I'll never know.. but again, they cut fine, they've lasted a year, and they are comfortable to hold.If there was a matching set of non-serrated steak knives, I'd prob get a set. I've not found such a set though.

Great price for a high quality set of knives used every day and enjoy cooking again now that I have sharp knives which are also good looking

My wife was a bit miffed at me when I bought these knives. I defended making the purchase but had to eat crow.These blades are heavy and feel solid. But when you get them in your hand, they have squared off handles that aren’t comfortable to hold. Especially if you have to use them for anything more than a couple cuts. Additionally, these knives will not hold an edge. I only wash them by hand, never in the dishwasher. They are treated appropriately, used for the correct things and only used for kitchen work (even the utility blade). As I’ve done with many of my other knives, I took the time to do a multi-stage sharpening with several whetstones and the knives still wouldn't hold an edge. You can see small chips out of the blades of all the knives except the serrated one.Within a few months of receiving the knives, the 5-inch “utility knife” blade broke about half an inch up from the handle. Along the break you could see a flaw in the manufacturing process.If you’re looking for a knife that gets used gently once in a blue moon, doesn’t have to be sharp or comfortable, this very well be the knife for you. But if you need a knife you know will be sharp, stay sharp and feel comfortable in your hand. Keep shopping! Even priced as a steal, I still lost out.

Loved the knives until the handle of the chef knife broke. It’s supposed to have a lifetime warranty, but impossible to contact anybody. That particular knife got very little use, but the plastic cracked among a seam. Too bad.
