Let me tell you how BEAUTIFUL this is when I first received it. First, the name tai chi calligraphy is quite clever. Love the logo and the gold stamp they placed on the packaging box (see the photos I've attached). The packaging box is black, however, has a nice glitter shine to it if you hold it in an angle in good light.The unit is padded with a soft foam so inside content won't move around. Alright, onto the content. Inside you'll find 5 bottles of ink, each of different color at 5mL per color (blue red green yellow black). They give you 5 changeable​ head nibs, which are numbered, another reason why this is so cool. You get a pen stand (it's in the pic, but hard to see), a wooden pen, and a very cool fancy real feature pen. Lastly, they also provide you with a small printout which shows you the basics of calligraphy writing technique.I bought this to give as a gift, but now, I think I may have to purchase another one just for myself lol. Overall, HIGHLY SUGGESTED! If you want quality, presentation, and aesthetic, by all means, go ahead and grab this calligraphy pen kit. You will definitely love it too.

Amazon really needs to create a negative star rating for items like this. I should have gone with my gut when I saw some of the bad reviews as well as the "verified purchase" reviews that read like company sales brochures. The wooden pen does not fit into the bottles of water-colored ink, which makes using the ink messy and very difficult. The ink spreads and turns into blobs on any type of paper. The nibs are nearly impossible to change out of the pens, and they are so cheap that I thought they'd break when I lightly pressed them to the page (the two that I was able to exchange into the pens). The pen holder is so flimsy that it won't hold a pen upright, nor do these pens fit into it. The "bonus booklet" on calligraphy writing is a tiny folded piece of paper with such small writing that I had to break out a magnifying glass to read the completely unhelpful information printed on it. I'm very disappointed and returning the kit ASAP.

Red came half-open and spilled all over the set. Huge mess. I wanted to send it back but got too busy.

There were no instructions on how to use this. We have had calligraphy sets before but they were the kind with the ink inserts.

The pen set is gorgeous. It doesn't feel cheap at all, even though the set itself is fairly inexpensive. I highly recommend this as a gift to family members and friends.
