I read that Cathy Scott has had very good reviews of other works
Mildly interesting story. The Durst angle is minimal, so if you want to read about him, pick something else. I read that Cathy Scott has had very good reviews of other works. That surprises me because the writing here is horrible. She might have done the research, but as far as writing, she must have "mailed it in." Sentences repeat, syntax is unclear, and so on. Don't waste your time.

Not Much New
I had read Susan Berman's books a few years back and was curious about her murder. I had followed Durst's crimes for years and was aware of their connection. At one time I lived in a town near the Katonah train station where he claimed his wife was last seen. Years later I lived in Houston so his Galveston murder was widely reported here. There wasn't really anything new to me in Ms. Scott's book and it was repetitious and needed better editing. For someone unfamiliar with either Berman and Durst it might be more enjoyable than it was to me.

Years ago I had read a book by Susan Berman called Easy Street. In it she wrote about her childhood in Las Vegas with her dynamic father and passive mother where she lived like a queen. She never knew her father was a Jewish mobster. She had a fabulous, luxurious existence and never questioned any of it! I don't think she ever got over the shock of learning that her beloved dad was a ruthless murderer with all sorts of questionable cronies who helped him run his various enterprises. I didn't really like Susan Berman. She sounded like such a pampered, spoiled brat! So I was shocked just recently to discover this book by Cathy Scott about the murder (execution style) of Susan Berman in California! Her friends' descriptions of Susan by themselves make the book worth reading. She was an extremely complicated, sometimes misunderstood, mess of contradictions. I was surprised to learn she was a very competent writer herself. Her death? Well, I have my theories about who killed her and so will you.

This book was a total disappointment. There was some interesting information in the book, but it is so disorganized and repetitive that I had to force myself to finish reading. With all the recent activity regarding the Bobby Durst arrest in NOLA and LA's attempts to extradite him I was hoping the book might deliver more on that relationship as the blurb indicated, but that just didn't happen.

One of the best true crime books ever written
Cathy Scott brings you the updates to her highly-acclaimed first Edition of this book. Her passion and dedication to uncovering all of the aspects of this investigation and suspects in the slaying of Susan Berman are remarkable. She leaves no stone unturned and covers this incredible story with precision and her own clues, digging deeply into motives, means, opportunity, and who in the world killed Susan Berman and why? One of the best true crime books I have ever read, it's a book I'm going to read again and highly recommend to all true crime enthusiasts. It's truly the stuff you see in the best Hollywood crime movies and should be adapted into film and shown on The Silver Screen!

The Mafia Daughter story a good casual read
Recently Robert Durst was back in the news and that got me interested in the Susan Berman case. Ms. Scott spelled out Susan's life in an interesting way although at times it was on the brink of being boring however I stuck with it to the end which by the way ended rather abruptly. I have given it three stars as it was a good casual read.

Poorly written and boring
Extremely repetitive to the point of boring, okay, we get the idea of who and what she was, that was 99% of the book over and over. Was it proof read at all? Entire words were left out of sentences numerous times leaving you to guess what they were trying to say. I expected more and was extremely disappointed, not worth the time to read, choose another book.
