Everything migrated just fine, and that's when I discovered my board and bios were too old to boot from PCIe. OOPS. So, if you're planning something similar, check your bios to ensure your board will boot to PCIe. Chances are, if your board doesn't have an M.2 slot already, it may not. That said, this card works great. It adapts an M.2 PCIe SSD to a PCIe slot. To have all that speed and not be able to boot from it was too much. I replaced my motherboard, processor, and memory so I could finally boot from my speedy M.2 PCIe SSD (glad I did, by the way). Now this card sits in a box with all my other spare computer parts, but that's no fault of the card, it works as advertised. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Win 10 password reset successful! *by Q***Q on Reviewed in the United States on January 24, 2017* I used this adapter to clear the windows 10 password for my ROG G752VT notebook's NVME boot drive. I put this and the drive in my MSI X99 SLI Deluxe MOBO (which does have a M.2 slot M provision). After disconnecting my SSD boot drive I booted the system with Lasesoft's boot disk and the rest was cake. The notebook would not mount the M.2 drive until it got to the windows login screen and the drive was not accessible using the Windows rescue disk or Lasesoft boot disk and I couldn't figure out how to get the UEFI BIOS to initialize the drive in the ROG. This adapter solved my problem perfectly but the native M.2 would have likely worked just as well if I had flashed the BIOS but horror stories from the past makes me reluctant to possibly brick my desktop. I'm not sure if this adapter will provide M.2 support if the host system doesn't have native UEFI support for NVME, If you use this for my purpose be sure to give the (suddenly new) Admin account a new password or your previous Admin account may not be accessible. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic option for testing out or making use of NVMe ... *by P***H on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2018* A fantastic option for testing out or making use of NVMe PCIe M.2 drives on systems that do not offer native support (the slots) for M.2 drives. They do not support SATA, however this company does have a separate solution for those that also works quite well. So far in our testing, we haven't ran into any bottlenecks speed wise when comparing it side by side with a system that is utilizing the same drive model within a proper M.2 slot on its motherboard.
