NOT the case.If you have a skimmer model pump that failed and want to convert it to be able to use an Intex pump/filter then this is not what you need.You will most likely need to get the plunger valve set up with the strainer and water outlet as well as 1 or 2 extra intex rubber washers.You will need to drill out the skimmer box and install the strainer, then attach the pump hose to the bottom of the skimmer box with the new plunger valve. Then you will need to trim the water outlet, and install the bigger water outlet and install the plunger valve then attach the hose from the other side of the pump.Sounds challenging but there are plenty of Youtube videos showing how it's done. Just search converting pool pump to intex pump.This plastic piece will not be what you need for the type pump I bought. It is a little tight as others have pointed out though I'm not sure that is a bad thing either.EDIT - 5/30/15:I removed one star from my original review. We put up the pool today. I purchased a new Summer Escapes hose kit for a new Intex pump. This item could use two o-rings on the part that sticks out on the bottom of the skimmer basket as the Intex to Summer Escapes adapter has. Both the new and old hose slipped on and off way to easily. Once I tightened the hose clamp it seemed to hold it in place though I don't know if it will stay on with the weight of the water or if it will leak. I'll continue to adjust my review based on my experience with this product.EDIT - 6/11/15:Yes, it leaks! I got the pool filled and found this connection leaking like a sieve and that was with a NEW Summer Escapes hose. The Summer Escapes hose clamps failed on me luckily. I had some decent quality hose clamps to replace them with. It took quite a bit of tightening to stop the leaking and I may have to replace the NEW hoses next year due to hose clamp damage. These REALLY need o-rings! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Does not work with Summer Waves 8’ frame pool SFS350 skimmer *by J***W on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on May 9, 2018* This probably works great if you have a compatible skimmer body- but not all the pools listed do.I ordered this and the pool set the same day, and knew when I unpacked the skimmer that I was in trouble. The SFS350 skimmer that comes with the 8’ Summer Waves frame pool has a very different and smaller connection to the pump, and this adapter will not fit into it at all.I considered just removing the impeller from the pump and using that as an adapter, but the pump has a bottleneck that reduces flow by about 50%, which would defeat the purpose of attaching a higher flow filter system.In the end I hacked the pump connection off the skimmer body and glued this adapter through the hole from the inside using a bunch of Plastic Welder epoxy (see images).
