Great addition to my Atom longboard!!!
I bought this brake for an Atom longboard. I have a large puppy named Otis that's cooped up most the day that has a ton of energy to burn off. I take Otis for walks at night and he pulls me on my board. He's a Rott/German Shepherd mix that is very muscular and pulls harder and faster every day, and stops frequently to check and leave pee-mail. I was foot braking, but i'm 50 and weigh about 210lbs, and I don't think foot braking at 12-15 mph, frequently, is good on my knees and hips. Not to mention most of my wipe outs have been from trying to avoid running into my dog on a hard stop.Installation was a little difficult; came with no instructions other than what is posted on the amazon photos, which did not really show my set up, but if you are reasonably mechanical you can make it work with the materials provided. This brake works perfect for me! Great addition; Otis and I absolutely love it and highly recommend it!

Quality product that works right.
I started skateboarding 2 months ago, I’m 34. So naturally, the need to stop seemed necessary. Foot braking... not for me. This product is great. Quality steel and rubber. Doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy. Installs easy if you got all the tools, take your time to make sure everything lines up.Stopping is quick and easy, smooth for the most part, but there is some jerking. I think with time and practice the jerking will be reduced.

Much better than foot braking but may require some DIY
Works OK. Much better than foot braking but may require some DIY.My board has risers so for this to touch the ground I needed to extend it with a rod of the same diameter and threading and a rod coupler from a hardware store. I screwed the rod into the base and coupled it to the top with Loctite Blue so it won't unscrew itself. It gives me much more confidence in my ability to bomb hills.

Cheap hardware
Bought this for an Atom longboard (same as MBS) and I was disappointed in the hardware. The extension block is not long enough so I'll make a spacer, but the screws for the extension that came with the kit came pre-stripped. After getting things to mount up I found the extension was not long enough so off the the hardware store again to grab a coupler and stud, or maybe chop up a cutting board to make a space for the rubber pad and buy longer hardware for the pad. I understand it is universal but there is no excuse for using such cheap hardware. All in all not great for 68 bucks. Unfortunately there is not much competition in products.

Good brake, requires some power tools to install
I bought this brake a few days ago and it arrived very quickly. The brake gets the job done and should make my longboard much safer on big hills. Definitely an upgrade over foot braking.Installing it on my longboard (top mount) was pretty fast and easy, although it required a power drill and some other tools. Overall I would buy again

Great idea, shoddy build.
I installed this on my eboard, worked fairly well. Rode a couple times and the rubber pad came off. I only used it to test it since my intent for it is as an emergency brake in case my electric brakes fail.

Simple, elegant and works exactly as advertised
Excellent purchase; the slide brake is simple, elegant and works exactly as advertised. Additionally, there is hardly any learning curve if you are already used to dragging your foot or toe to brake.I expect this will pay for itself in a year or so (after using the brake for 2 months, there is no noticeable wear on my skate shoes - they will rarely need replaced now).

It's a Great idea
The brakes started wearing off after 2 months and not by a little! Other than that, it's great to have for instant stopping or slowing down on the hill.
