When I first got the the trays were hard to get apart (never the lid). Now after using them on several puzzles they are not loose but don’t snap together tightly. One other thing to consider is that if the trays tip some pieces will flip over. They are great for home use and work well. It’s ice to be able to hand wash them to get all the fingerprints off and puzzle dust. **Q: Is this dishwasher safe** A: As these trays aren't stamped as dishwasher safe, I would not recommend cleaning them in the dishwasher. Puzzle dust...ugh! Instead I use a swifer and a soft rag to clean them. I still love these puzzle sorters! **Q: I just got this. The top tray is stuck to the lid. There are only 7 usable trays.
