Toilet Specific flapper replacements
I am not a young man, so when I had a flapper failure, I looked at reviews and got the highest rated replacement. Didn't work at all...never realized some brands required specific replacement flappers. Purchased this one, installed easy and worked great. Four options for how long the flapper stays up when you flush. Great quality.

Finally, the flapper fits!
I went through 6--that's SIX--different flappers. None worked even though to my non-plumber eyes they appeared identical to the original flapper. I even took the old one to Home Depot AND Lowe's AND Ace Hardware to find a matching one. Everytime I thought I found it, I'd hear that torturous sound -- the water running and never stopping. This old flapper, warped and aged like an STD ridden genital, had been a contributing factor in my toilet overflowing and flooding my basement. Throughout my flapper journey, never did I ask for help because, darn it, I'm a capable adult! But I broke down after #6. My uncle told me to look for the toilet tank manufacturer and model number. To my dismay, the info was all worn away. Lots of tears did fall into that tank. Then after doing what felt like WAY TOO MUCH RESEARCH FOR A FLAPPER, I found this one for sale on Amazon. I ordered it. I put it on. I had low expectations. I was ready to rip this entire toilet out because I was convinced no flapper would ever be good enough for it (so stuck up this toilet). I waited and listened. The tank...it was filling up! No more trickling! No more continuous, never-ending running! No more ghost flushing! Finally! This freaking little flapper fit! The tank water was blessed with my joyful tears and tears of relief. What will happen to the other 6 flappers? Those flappers are going on my xmas tree this year. Merry flapping xmas.

Works as expected
I had a hard time figuring out what brand my toilet was, but there was an 800# stamped under the lid. It works better than it did when it was new. I think the plumber used the wrong restrictor button.

Perfect Fit Mansfield 3173 2.5” flapper.
The drama is over!!! I spent $100 on the wrong flappers—— mind you “they” said they would fit the Mansfield model 3173. But…. They didn’t. This one with the included blue plug works BRILIANTLLY!!! I’m going to order 3 more!

Works well, but only lasts 3 or so years before leaks start.
Works well, but only lasts 3-4 years. This is the third one for each Mansfield toilet in a house built 8 years ago. I buy them two at a time and have not found a replacement from another company that fits. These toilets can't use standard flappers, so Mansfield has a recurring source of income since it is just not worth buying a new toilet just to have something that requires fewer repairs like this. FWIW, if you have a little-used bathroom in the house, it is important to occasionally check to see it its flapper is leaking too.

The one flapper to rule them all…for Mansfield toilets anyways
The one flapper to rule them all. This is it. The one you have been looking for after going through every other ‘universal’ flapper known to man. After trying no less than a few thousand flappers from every store and peddler across the country, I finally observed that one of the pegs that the flapper attaches to is a larger diameter than the other. Ah, that’s the key. Apparently Mansfield felt that they would be unique and very cute with their different sized pegs so that all other not-so-universal flappers will not work for them. If only I had taken 43 seconds to google MPP 135 as is printed on the side of my toilet, I could have possibly saved myself a lot of frustration. So, I’m glad you have finally made it here to this celebratory digital space with me. This is what success feels like.
