I purchased this to train our "new" adult dog to come when called (he is four and has been with us only a short time). I was amazed at how quickly it worked! Within 10 minutes, he would come every time I blew the whistle. The minimal instructions (available via the Internet) don't address the "how to" of training, but here's what I did: I began the process by blowing the whistle. He immediately turned to look at me, so I called him, he came to me and I gave him a treat. I did that several times, waiting about a minute between each call. I then stopped calling him verbally and used only the whistle, treating him when he responded. I appreciate that it comes with a lanyard. I also appreciate the fact that the pitch of the whistle is adjustable, however, just about every time I use it after it has been hanging unused for a while, I have to pull it apart to adjust it back to the pitch I use. It seems to work it's way out of that setting. It's simple to adjust, though. I don't know how it would work if your main objective is to correct a barking problem, but it certainly works well to prompt this dog to come when called, and that was what I needed.

The whistle is fine and it definitely works. The security cover is good, also, because I think it would be very easy for the "frequency" that you set to change without a protective cover. It's not silent, as apparently, none of the "silent" dog whistles are. My dog definitely doesn't like it and it gets her attention. Not trying to stop her from barking, but I wanted it because she gets overly excited when we encounter other people or dogs on our walks.Must also say, the training manual promised still is not available. I bought this three weeks ago, and it still says on their website Available in Next Week. So, we'll see how that goes.

This whistle is another universe different than the CLD whistle I'd been wasting my time with. To human ears,up close you only hear the slightest sound. I can't even call it a whistle or a squeal sound. It seems to be working on the two dogs across the street, on whom I successfully used the CLD -- but with the CLD everyone could hear me, and it has the design flaw of the locknut unscrewing and the bottom falling off.The .pdf is disappointing in its lack of info.

My dog didn't even lift her head or ears when the whistle was blown. I read the instructions but still nothing seems to get her attention when its blown. I tried it with the neighbors dog and another dog (3 dogs total) and nothing. I read the reviews where others rave about it but it doesn't seem to work for me. (again it might just be me)

this is the second whistle I bought that did not work. It might work on small dogs but doesn't on large dogs. Don't waste your time and money!!

it will not work, I tried every position an she didn't even look at me, but I might have gotten a dud, theres always one in every bunch, so I give it the benefit of the doubt...

I Have been wearing the whistle since it arrived I am very pleased with it Rosie perks up She looks at me and she runs back in the house stops barking I can't believe it in fact I even give her a little treat at times and say what a good girl products perfect fo it me

It had zero effect on my dog or my neighbors. They tried to make it more valuable by having that Paw plastic disk but that's useless too. Can't even use it as a regular whistle. Trying to use lanyard for something but no idea came to my mind yet.
