These were ordered to support some large cookbooks and to prevent them from falling from a shelf. As some of the books are a little heavy, the fact that these were described as heavy duty bookends was an important feature. Well, they do look good and they are holding the books in place, but they are a little flimsy. They may do the job with a single item at each end, but I’m not confident of this so have used both together to increase confidence. I’m sure they’d be fine for books where there is a lot of spare shelf to prevent books falling onto the floor, or if used on a worktop.

Books don't fall over pretty happy...

I bought this item as it said heavy duty. The postman flattened the product putting it through the letter box 🤣I bent it back into it original shape it doesn't hold up 4 cookery books but so damaged I don’t think I can return them.

I was too tired to report this problem, book ends are supposed to come in two’s one either side.I only received one side, which was all bent, I should have reported it at the time, but just couldn’t be bothered. I am so disappointed.RegardsFiona Murray

I thought these would be a good idea. However they bend and are useless for holding anything back. I had bought 2 sets - kitchen ones and cats. Very disappointed!

They are definitely not heavy duty! The cutlery shaped prongs are very flimsy. Used for cookbooks on a kitchen shelf, the first day they bent and the books fell off, smashing a vase.

As the title says, these might look decent but really struggle to hold up my recipe books in the kitchen which is a shame. Really flimsy
