I have two dogs that live in the house with me. One is a tiny 4 pound dog while the other is a huge Pitbull. The Pitbull actually serves as my service dog so he goes everywhere with me. The bad thing about that is that his nails have scratched my furniture and leather truck seats. I try to keep his nails shirt, but let's face it, their nails really need to be filed as well.I have tried that file that is advertised on TV and it's s joke. The grinding wheel is nothing more than sandpaper in a round cardboard attachment. If you haven't ever heard one of these files they are also very noisy.No for this nail file...All I can say is Yey!! First of all the file used on toy dog is metal and not cardboard. Secondly, the machine is exceptionally quiet, and doesn't get hot in your hand while using it, in case you were wondering. Next, I'm now able to file my dog's nails without the risk of hurting him. He has black nails, which makes grooming him that much harder. Finally, with encouragement, he isn't afraid of the file.Personally, I cover the sofa with a towel then fill a King toy with peanut butter. I sit on the sofa with him and the toy held between my knees. He is so interested in the toy he barely notices I'm fooling with his feet, naturally this is also where the quite motte really helps. Needless to say this is just "my" way of filing my dog's nails, I'm sure there are other simple tricks others use as well. This allows me to trim nails without the help of someone else, so I don't feel rushed either.Personally I rely heavily on the reviews of others when I'm shopping. Returning this device because the manufacturer doesn't have enough respect for me to write instructions in my language. Here are the instructions (exactly as written below):"According to pet size and nail characteristics, select the appropriate port, port 1 for small pets, port 2 for medium and large pets, Port 3 (side) suitable for fast wear armor.Right hand holding the clipper and open the switch, the left hand pinch pet's paws then make pet's nails gently into the hole, you can begin to repair pet nails.For security, each lasting time should not more than 5 seconds, to adjust the angle of the pet's nail.If the pet is the first time wear armor, it is ecommended first part worn nails sharp or too long, not too polished, to avoid bloodshed, while allowing the pet to gradually adapt to wear armor.-counterclockwise rotation the head of the clipper, remove the protective cover.-start the nail clipper-use the eraser or cloth to gently touch any moving surface to clear remaining on the surface of the nail powder-finally clean the ground"What in the world does this mean???This device is a simple battery powered grinding wheel. There are no "holes". No guides for appropriate nail positioning. Junk.

I got this for my mom and he two little dogs. They are chihuahuas so she bathed them herself but clipping their nails was a huge struggle. They would fight her and wiggle and she would end up having to take them to the groomer just to get their nails trimmed which cost her twenty dollars and she's on a fixed income. I got her this and she's now used it on both dogs and while they were hesitant at first she was able to grind down their nails without a fight. It makes a low hum noise so it's not loud like hair clippers and one of them fell asleep while she was doing it on her back feet. Very helpful to her so I'm pleased with this product.

I had lost my previous grinder from amazon which was a different slightly more expensive product. Not sure why though because both of them performed the same and look identical. I use it on my medium sized dogs. They both just deal with the grinder but they obviously don't like it. But I think this is way better than a nail clipper because there is less of a chance of them bleeding. Also it can work well if you use it right. There's not much to it though, grinder to nail, don't reach the quick.

This worked great when our dog was a puppy and had tiny nails. Not so much now that she is 55lbs. I would recommend it definitely for small dogs though

I love this for my dogs nails. It's been over a week and I have trimmed every 4 days and they are getting shorter. My dog would fight getting her nails trimmed and I was forced to take her to the vet. With this, she actually sits still and let's me go through each nail. She is not effected by it at all. I have even been using it on my cat and even the cat even let's me. I love this and think it's the best product for out pets.

Giving these only 3 stars because they just weren't that great. It took a lot of work to actually file my maltese's nails. I thing it would be a bit more powerful. I would suggest skipping these and just getting clippers.

This is a very quiet tool. It works well but there is no way to change out the grinder head that I see. All in all, the tool works well on the animal's claw.

トイプードル用に購入しました。今までは普通に爪切りで切っていましたが、それだとどうしても爪の先がとがってしまい、腕などにひっかき傷をつけられてしまっていました。これなら簡単に爪の先を丸くできるので、ひっかかれても痛くないです。トイプードルということで、初めは3ポートあるうちの一番小さいところを使ってみましたが、小さすぎて上手くいかず、また、うちの犬が全く振動や音を怖がらないので、カバーは外し、やすり部分むき出しにして使用しています。毛が引っ掛かると厄介ですが、そこさえ気を付ければ、とても快適に使えます。ただ、ひとつ気になったのが、新品であるはずなのに、本体に謎の汚れが付いていたこと、、、おやおや？と思い、返品も考えましたが、もっと酷いものが来ても嫌だし、どうせ安いものだからいいか、と妥協しました。値段の割に、お買い得だと思います。

せっかちな私ですので、爪の削りに使用して、思う様に削れないのでいらつく事もありますがこんなものだと思います。ただ、ウィーンと言う音に慣れない犬達で、今は、使用しておりません。又何かに、やくだてれば、とおもっております。

高速回転で超ミニディスクグラインダーみたいで爪以外にあたっちゃったらと考えると怖いです。犬は怖がらないけど人間がドキドキです。取り扱いに注意は必要だと思います。値段のわりには良い品物。
