Husband loves it! Says it's a good quality set and worth getting over some of the cheaper sets he had seen. As a beginner, he fixed his phone screen first try within an hour.

Oh my word, where do I even begin? This is hands down my favorite tool kit and, in my opinion, the best repair toolkit available for working on laptops, tablets, smartphones, and other electronics. The quality is exceptional. Every tool feels precise, durable, and thoughtfully designed. The kit includes virtually everything needed for disassembling and repairing modern electronic devices, all neatly organized in a compact and highly portable case. I have used many tool kits over the years, and this one stands above the rest. If you regularly work on computers, tablets, or mobile phones, this is the gold standard and well worth the investment. It is not the cheapest option, but the quality and versatility justify every penny. Outstanding value for the money and one of the best tools I have ever purchased.

Love the kit. It has come in handy. Has so many bits to work on all devices. One thing negative is the markings on the foam bit holder are near impossible to read.

Super nice tool kit for working on electronics. While it isn’t inexpensive, it is a very complete kit that’ll get you into almost anything. The case is very well organized and makes the set super portable. With care, I expect it to outlast me.

I have a 10-year old Dell laptop that needed fixing. It started with a hard drive failure. So, I decided to replace the hard drive instead of buying a new laptop. In addition, I needed to replace the keyboard and power button and cable that were giving me problems. This toolkit was perfect for my needs. The laptop, itself has lots of screws that needed to be removed to open up the computer. Also, the keyboard needed to be removed to fully get to the inside of the computer. This toolkit had all that I needed to remove the components of the laptop. Contrary to other reviewers, I found the screw driver bits to be magnetic, which was a big bonus given the small size of the screws and deep recesses to where they attach to the computer. The kit has plenty of driver bits for almost any job. I found that they were quality made and did not strip the screw or the driver head, itself. It also contains some pry tools, suction cups (good for mobile phones), and an anti-static strap that you should use to avoid any electrostatic charges that could wreck your components. All-in-all, this toolkit gave me everything I needed to repair my laptop. Instead of spending $2000 on a new laptop, I purchased a new 1 TB hard drive for $50, a new keyboard for $25, and a new power button and cable for another $25. Add to that the price of this toolkit, and I spent a total of $150 to repair my laptop. It took just an hour or so of my time to install the new hardware and to install a clean version of Windows 10 from a USB drive. Now, my laptop is running like new and should last another 10 years or so. This is a quality repair kit and well-worth the money, even though I did not find the cost to be expensive in the first place.

Packaging Quality: 3/5 Tool Quality: 4.5/5 Tool Variety: 5/5 Case Quality: 2/5 Overall: The kit is great for what it was designed to do; which is to give you just about everything you'd need to get in and work on laptops, cellphones, and other electronic devices. The case is also designed to be convenient. It's very easy to get things out and to put them back in their designated slot. Unlike many tool kits, you're not going to open this up and find things ready to fall out or rolling around in different places if you put them away properly. What could be improved: Ship in boxes, not paper/plastic envelopes; improve case craftsmanship; improve case quality control; improve storage of anti-static strap using some sort of hard shell; add an additional suction cup. Packaging Quality: The packaging is pretty good. It consists of a hard front-loaded box and a slide-over cardboard label. There's nothing special about it, but it looks nice and provides adequate protection for the actual product. The reason I gave this a 3/5 is because the shipping method. I've received two of these, one came in an Amazon branded plastic envelope while the other came in a manila paper envelope from iFixIt. In both instances, the product's packaging was damaged during shipping. While the product itself remained seemingly undamaged, seeing the product's box with smash corners isn't the most reassuring thing. Tool Quality: Most of the tools are absolutely great. The screwdriver and provided bits seem to be sturdy and well made. Likewise, the Tweezers, opening pics, and spudgers all feel great. The only complaint I have is that wire on the anti-static wrist strap feels like a cheap slippery plastic. Tool Variety: This has just about everything, really. The only thing I wish they would have done is included two suction cups instead of one. My turning the elastic bands to the side and moving them over, they would have had room for both of them in the case too. Case Quality: This is my biggest gripe about this toolkit. I don't know if I just have bad luck, but the first kit I got had a tear in the upper-left corner near the magnetic plate (under the 64 bit driver kit) and in the second kit the top appears stretched out of shape a bit with what appears to be the start of a tear in the top left. I believe this happens because they cut the material without adding any sort of trim and stitching around the cut. Likewise, there are various other areas where the case has bad stitching, loose hanging threads, and overlapping trim. For such a nice quality set, the case seems less than expected. However, it's still a great bargain considering all that you get for $60. My only other complaint about the case is with the anti-static strap. Getting it back in its storage pocket in a manner that allows the case to close properly is annoying. I'd have liked to see a hard-shell to help keep the anti-static strap compact or a hard case for the entire kit.

Wanneer je met enige regelmaat gevraagd wordt om een wat oudere laptop te voorzien van meer geheugen, een nieuwe batterij of om een (hopelijk) kleine storing te verhelpen dan is zo'n setje speciaal gereedschap onontbeerlijk.

Veramente soddisfatto di questo kit, iFixit è un brand affidabile e qui si nota molta cura per il prodotto. Il kit comprende: - la scatola con il cacciavite che comprende (la scatola si attacca magneticamente): - cacciavite con attacco magnetico e parte superiore che può ruotare; - prolunga flessibile per il cacciavite - un set di tantissime punte (comprese quelle per iPhone e Mac) - 3 pinze di forme diverse; - una spatolina; - vari attrezzi per il prime; - una ventosa; - un braccialetto per scaricare l'elettricità statica del corpo; Non sono sicuro di questo ma penso che la parte magnetica dove poggia la scatola del cacciavite sia intesa anche per ospitare le viti che toglierete. Essa è infatti una piastra magnetica che può essere facilmente estratta. Sembra però molto fragile e si piega facilmente, per cui è meglio usarla lasciandola inserita nella custodia. Certo, non è economico, con 10 euro in uno store di bricolage potete prendere un cacciavite con 35 punte, ma con questo kit (con bel 65 inserti) si hanno molte punte strane. Punte che non si trovano normalmente in quei kit, quelli sono kit pensati per un uso comune. Questo ha punte come quella per l'iPhone, piccolissima e pentastellata. Normalmente poi i kit da 10 euro hanno il corpo del cacciavite in plastica, qui è tutto metallo e la parte superiore gira in modo perfetto (probabilmente con dei cuscinetti). Volendo, la scatola nera con i cacciaviti è venduta separatamente, ma se comprate un kit iFixit suppongo siate persone che fanno certi lavori o operazioni non comunissime. Per questo motivo che trovo il kit completo un must per chi lavora con l'elettronica e chi deve aprire telefoni o computer (soprattutto gli ultimi mac) perchè da altri accessori oltre al cacciavite che sono vitali. Solo per cambiare uno schermo o una batteria di un iPhone userete molti dei tool in confezione, i bastoncini blu per scollegare i connettori, la ventosa e i plettri per estrarre lo schermo, le varie pinzette saranno utilissime per maneggiare i vari cavi. In conclusione, è un un kit con caratteristiche premium (materiali, qualità costruttiva, accessori per tutte le evenienze) venduto giustamente ad un prezzo premium. Se siete persone che impallidiscono anche solo all'idea di aprire un telefono questo kit non fa per voi, vi basta quello da 10 euro dei negozi di bricolage che ha tutte le punte necessarie per un uso comune. Se invece dovete cambiare un componente del telefono o qualunque prodotto di elettronica questo kit fa per voi. Io personalmente l'ho preso perchè devo sostituire la batteria dell'iPhone 6 (questo kit in futuro servirà di sicuro ad altro) inoltre questo kit mi costava quanto andare da qualcuno per ripararlo e le batterie costano sui 15 euro. Con questo kit e le guide sul sito di iFixit si possono fare molte cose, super consigliato.

Pros: Company is fantastic: transparent, ethical, and fights for the betterment of the industry. Toolkit is made of durable tools (except for those that need to be flexible to make sure your device doesn't get damaged) and the screw-drivers are backed by a lifetime warranty. The tips are magnetic (quite strong magnets at that) and the grip itself is quite strong (it didn't bend working as a lever to straighten my desk). The toolkit itself has a bunch of tools I didn't know I would find useful and the company website makes me WANT to find time to repair my old broken electronics, something I never thought I would say. I can safely and proudly support this product and this company at this moment whole-heartedly. Cons: Yes, it is expensive. Yes, you can get comparative toolkits with lower-quality parts and less extensive warranties for a lower price. But as someone that cares about tech, the industry going forward, my impact on the planet I and my future kids will live in, and the longevity of the tools I buy, the price is worth it. Conclusion: Buy it. If you need a toolkit that will last you a lifetime and want to contribute to something that is good for the environment, this is the only brand I can confidently recommend. Whether you get the entire toolkit or just the screw-drivers is up to you. But if you care about tech, the right to repair, and your impact on the planet while wanting to be a techie like me, this is it.
