This product has very poor quality control and cut my finger.
This is made from steel that has edges that are cut and are supposed to be "rolled" over in a machine to ensure the sharp edges are not exposed. Clearly this machine was improperly setup because several edges were not rolled even half way over and left a very sharp razor edge. BEWARE!Also, the stainless steel on other sprouters on amazon looks good and is not coated in odd chemicals. This steel has a shiny side and a dull side. The dull side has a sticky residue that has a STRONG chemical odor and is difficult to clean or remove. (strong solvent is all that will work). It also had BLACK GREASE marks around the edge where they attempted to roll the edge of the steel.I have ordered thousands of items from amazon. I have to say this item has the WORST quality control of anything I have ordered thus far. THEY WIN THE PRIZE!!!! (for fastest return)

Nice
Nice but sides could be taller to allow sprouts some room to get tall enough to "green up" before eating

Roots get stuck
When harvesting, much of the roots of the (brocolli) sprouts get stuck on the underside of the tray, wasting it, and is so hard to clean them off, as they are imbedded in there. Drying them doesn't seem to help make cleaning easier either. I have another plastic sprouter that's has a tray that's sits right under each tray which keep the roots from growing too far below the tray, pushing them upward as they grow, so then you get a much nicer taller sprout and any roots left below the tray is much easier to wipe off. Plus it's a deeper tray.Downside to my plastic trays is they seem to stain easily from the seeds, thus, my reason for trying this stainless steel one. Both trays involved a lot of scrubbing to clean up. Easiest method I've tried so far, I've determined, is the jar method. Not as pretty and straight, but the easiest overall in terms of cleanup and daily rinses.

Difficult to clean
I was excited to see Broccoli sprouts growing in the stainless steel tray, but I was overwhelmed when I went to clean out the residual sproutsI am willing to upgrade my choice if I can learn a trick to not have to boil the trays to thoroughly clean the them.Just writing this review I decided that if I need to go through the arduous cleaning process it’ll still be worthwhile to use these fine quality trays. The resultant superior vertical broccoli sprouts may prove so beneficial that I may not mind the difficulty cleaning the trays.

worth it
This works like a charm. I made the mistake of sprouting too many at once but once I get my rotation down we will enjoy sprouts all the time.

Will last a long time but a dangerous flaw
I love my new sprouting trays and I started using them immediately. The Big downside to this product is this: The underside of the lid has exposed jagged edges (similar to a can lid once opened with a can opener) and is dangerous if you mishandle it. Be aware of these sharp edges so that you do NOT cut yourself!
