Xenon SM-713 Z-Wave Plus Water Valve Black

Worked fine until unplugging and plugging back in one day. The motor turned on and stays on now, until unplugged. I pulled the release hoop thing to keep it from burning out. Power button has no effect. It's uselessly stuck in this state now. I wasn't using it for a water valve, it was used to lock/unlock my sliding door (you know, the old broom handle in the track security system) This review was probably unnecessary because I think it's just another Chinese manufacturer a bunch once, sell, and forget type deal. Might try to put my own controller on it someday as the motor still works, power cycle must have zapped its unprotected brain.

Paired with Smartthings out of the box. Has worked fine for about a year and a half now. It has cycled several times on command from a routine tied to a water sensor, and I've cycled it manually many times in the Smartthings app for various reasons. Photo shows an additional piece of scrap metal I used to get a clamp on the valve's handle.

which is better ? z-wave or wifi i think i will give up wifi and go with Z-WAVE another internet scam.

Bought two for my sprinkler system. It didn't take us too long to connect it and they work fine. Love it and Highly recommended!

No instructions. Can't pair. Waste of money.

Mounting was a little bit of a challenge but it works perfectly

I received this as a Christmas gift and I did not get around to using it until March of this year because of home renovations. When I did include it the unit would only stay connected if it was within 3 feet of the controller. I tried several times to include/exclude but got the same results. My system has dozens of devices that work fine so I know it is not that. I contacted the company and they wanted me to bring it to them at some convention in a different state than where I am. I contacted them again after a while and have not heard anything back. The unit appears to have a manufacturing defect which should be eligible for replacement regardless of the time.
