Very happy, good wand, I'd buy again and will if I ever need another!
Originally I had a minor issue and left 4 stars. They have great customer service and fixed everything however. Nothing was wrong with the ph meter at all and the 4 stars was only because I felt their listing was a little misleading. They actually agreed with me and literally changed their listing to make it easier for everyone to understand, so my minor complaint no longer applies. (It previously didn't explain the calibration packet well enough imho). One of the few honest merchants and this PH meter has been working flawlessly now for a couple months or so, thus definitely no complaints at this price especially. I'm not affiliated with these guys at all or paid for this review or anything like that, just a normal customer and feel like this is a great bargain and a great PH meter at this price (I've had numerous over the years for growing and many much more expensive no better than this one).

Calibration part sucks but otherwise pretty useful.
I like it but ... The calibration requires a solution in packets that you have samples of and need to buy again when you have to calibrate and being in Hawaii, that means wait until I need it and wait for delivery. Not like I can go to a store and buy it cheap. The distilled water should always be 7.0 ph but unless you work in a certified lab you can't get that meaning your calibration could be off. Luckily I am only testing edibles and not Clorox or cleaners.I like it so far in spite of calibration and feel better doing this than a paper test.Hope I don't have to do calibration all the time. I don't blame vendor for the junk parts. I just wished I could do something automatically and it didn't require me to purchase a powder for different PH levels.

and they must be accurate to be useful. With all the earnestness at my command and ...
I'm 51 years old with much experience in the wine and growing industry. Ph meters have always been a very important tool for me, and they must be accurate to be useful. With all the earnestness at my command and other meters on hand to verify this one, I found it impossible to calibrate this meter following the instructions to a T. One helpful improvement would be more meticulous instructions which mention leaving the meter in the buffer solution until the reading is steady before pushing the calibration button, BUT on my particular meter it could not even get a steady reading before the power on it actually turned off from inactivity...not nice. I have it finally working a little bit, but it isn't accurate enough to be useful for anything that needs to be within plus or minus .5 ph. It's sad because more than anything I wanted to get this thing to work and write a positive review. Bought another meter (yellow in color) with a screw to adjust it in the buffer solution and it was a breeze to set up. ALSO, the buffer solutions to calibrate this particular meter will ONLY work accurately if you have the buffer solutions at 25C because the meter locks in that value for all three buffer solutions, no matter what the actual temperature and ph of the solution is. Keep this in mind if you need accuracy, and I hope other people will have a meter which functions properly. Mine just does not.

but I would like to calibrate this in the future
Will not calibrate. I hold down the calibration button (as instructed in the manual) and nothing happens. So far it still seems fairly accurate (registers water's pH as 7), but I would like to calibrate this in the future.

Works Great!
I give this product 4 stars instead of 5 stars for 2 reasons: The instructions could have been a little more detailed and only comes with enough buffer solution for two calibrations. This instrument is based on a 2-point calibration and the manufacturer suggests that if the user plans to measure in the lower scale (acidic) to calibrate to the lower scale. Similarly, if the user plans to measure in the upper scale (basic), then calibrate to the upper scale. This would imply a non-linear calibration curve although accuracy seems to be relative across both acidic and basic across the neutral line. I ran some repeatability and reproducibility experiments and must say I am happy with the results - definitely worth the money!Note: When calibrating as the instructions direct, to change to the second calibration point wait for flashing and single taps will cycle to the next indicated point. I spent a couple of minutes playing with it until I realized how to cycle. I suspect this is the reason there seems to be frustration about this product.

this is one of the best meters I have purchased
For the money, this is one of the best meters I have purchased. I calibrated it and then tested water against another, more expensive meter and it gave solid readings all day.Delivery was fast and hassle free. I recommend this meter for anyone that needs exact measurement for a reasonable price.A++ will buy again.

Worked straight out of the box. Perfect, great price.
Worked perfectly straight out of the box, no calibration needed. I expect to use this tester every couple of days so I don't expect to need to calibrate it any time soon. Very nice that it comes with the case and the calibration solutions for if and when I need them.

good meter - not water proof
this is a good meter, but it is not water proof for some reason. I dropped it into a bucket of water and it was a goner. Any instrument that is used to test liquid, should be water proof.
