Runs very large but is also very shallow.
I really like this hat. I'd love it if it were a bit smaller and it were much deeper. It barely is on my head. I am a huge fan of the original Real Deal Brazil hat (which I bought in the Large size and fits perfectly), so I was a bit disappointed that this is so shallow and yet so loose without overlapping the velcro adjustment strap. With the strap tight and the crown of my head deforming the flat top because it is pushed on as far as I can manage, it does the job and still looks alright.

A hat with 5 size choices
This is the first hat in many years that actually fit (maybe the size of my head and the length of my hair have something to do with it). Many of the other caps I've worn were too small or the adjusting headband mechanism of the one size fits all, at maximum broke, also the brim didn't survive the necessary washing after a few sweaty days. I gave The Real Deal a whirl in the washer after it captured some factory funk. I figured it would soften up the canvas a bit. An aged looking cap with an more streaked patina like a stone washed effect emerged from the washer, and like a pair of well worn jeans the cap now sports some wear holes in the canvas for a frayed, broken in look. The brim was unaffected. I referenced the Real Deal website and they recommend hand washing or wearing the cap in a swimming pool! If you use a washing machine the cap has to do battle with the agitator. A great cap and would plan on purchasing another for "formal" use or experiment in tie dye coloring the hat. (I rarely rate any product 5 stars)

The Ultimate Recycled Product
I was looking for a hat which got away from the common baseball cap when I ran across this unique hat. I became intrigued by this collection of different style hats made from old truck tarps. They look good and are expertly made. I love the idea that they are repurposing a material that use to be just thrown out. The cost was very reasonable for what I got. I wear it everywhere and since they're already distressed from use, I don't worry about a little dirt smudge here and there. I'm going to order another style.

Great hat but...
Got this back in march. Took a while to break in but it's my fave hat now. Only problem: the cheap velcro on the back is shot. I'm going to have to sew it.

Large and Stiff
I gotta a big head but this hat was bigger. Its a bit stiff and not too comfortable.

Bad

It's ok, has a couple flaws though
It's a durable hat, just like the regular tarp hats. For the most part it's a quality hat. I have two problems with the hat though, 1) the strap on the inside of the hat is just a plain Velcro strap unlike the one on the outside of the hat which has Velcro sown to the canvas material leaving a spot for failure. And a stupid amount of excess strap hanging off the back of the hat when it's adjusted 2) once I adjust the strap on the hat it bunches up above the strap area that just looks odd. It bunches straight out from your head making it look like you have a horn on your head. I ordered an xl cause that's the same size as my original tarp hat and due to the strap it kinda large. It's an ok hat but it would be awesome if it was fitted like the rest of them. I'll end up modding the hat by folding the bulge on each side and sewing it together and taking the stitching out of the right side of the strap where it's just Velcro and sewing the whole strap canvas and all, inside the hat band essentially making it a fitted hat.
