NakedEggs is proud to be featured in the Martha Stewart American Made Market. These are GLAZED eggs and they're ours....but we'll share! These eggshells come from backyard farmers and organically raised chickens. They have been thoroughly emptied and sanitized. This is a beautiful selection of eggs which have been hand selected for color, shape and/or speckle pattern. In fact, the more oddities we can find, we use. So don't be surprised if your eggs show Chicken scratches, or are a little lopsided as it adds to the character to what we think makes a beautiful display. Of course, "normal" sized and shaped eggs are always included; but the beauty is in the mix. We add a high gloss glaze to the eggs which bring a depth of dimension and color that cannot be achieved by spraying with polyurethane or varnish. These are particularly lovely displayed in a bowl, apothecary jar, or cloche jar. Although the eggs pictured are not the exact eggs you will received, we guarantee at least one turkey egg, one blue egg (duck or chicken) and one quail egg. I will hand pick and carefully package and ship. Please let me choose a lovely selection for you! Eggs from the wild are never used. We know to never disturb a nesting mother. We work with local breeders and backyard farmers to acquire their eggs which are considered "past prime." These are eggs which cannot be used for breeding or eating. They would otherwise be discarded. A wonderful, new gift idea for the holidays! Great for home decorators, nature lovers, Photographers, and Natural History buffs! The eggs have been thoroughly cleaned. I use baking soda outside and vinegar inside as a sanitizer. Then a rinse in hot water.

I like them but did feel that it was perhaps a bit expensive. Maybe it is labor extensive and therefore the cost.
