Black lab has easier time getting up!
I bought these tablets for our black lab, Samantha, because I had noticed that she sometimes had trouble getting up. She’s almost 7 and a half years old and just over 80 pounds. The bottle says: dog’s weight 20-40# - 1 tablet per day for the first 4-6 weeks, and ½ tablet after that; dog’s weight 40-60# - 2 tablets per day for the first 4-6 weeks, and 1 tablet after that; dog’s weight 60-80# - 3 tablets per day for the first 4-6 weeks, and 1.5 tablets after that; dog’s weight 80-100# - 4 tablets per day, and 2 tablets after that.Recommended on the bottle, it says it is best if you give your dog ½ the dosage, twice a day (spread it out), so that is what we did. For Samantha, I gave her 1.5 tablets in the morning with her meal, and then 1.5 in the evening with her other meal. I actually noticed improvement around the 2 week mark, so that is when I decreased to 1.5 tablets per day, rather than wait the 4-6 weeks – again, splitting the dosage throughout the day, I currently give her 1 tablet in the morning and ½ tablet in the evening. The bottle states the ingredients are: Glucosamine Sulfate – 500 mg, Chondroitin Sulfate – 400 mg, and Vitamind C (Asorbic Acide) – 166 mg; Other ingredients listed are: Debittered Brewer’s Yest, Sucrose, Microcrystaline Cellulose, Natural and Artificial Bacon Flavor, Vegetable Stearic Acid, Silicon Dioxide, and Vegetable Magnesium Stearate. The tablets are about ¾ of an inch long and just under ¼ of an inch thick (1/16). The tablets do have a smell. Sometimes it smells like coffee to me, and other times it smells smoky. I think what I’m smelling though is the added bacon flavor but it does not smell bad by any means. Samantha has no problem taking these pills, as I think she thinks they’re treats. You can see in my photo that she is staring at the bottle because she thinks she’s going to get another! I am so happy that these appear to be helping her, as she is our biggest fur baby (we also have a Shih Tzu) and I would never want her to be in pain.If this review helped you at all, please click “Yes” below!

Amazing Product....Outstanding Customer Service
About a year or so ago our dog hit his knee on the foot rail of our bed and hurt his knee pretty good. With pain meds and anti-inflammatory medication he recovered. (We did not do an x-ray at this time. My dog is nervous with people he does not know so going to the Vet is a little traumatic for him. The doctor said we could try the meds but if he didn't improve they would need to sedate him and take an x-ray, thankfully he recovered fine). About a month or so ago I took him for a walk and the last little stretch I let him off the leash to run back to the house. He seemed fine when we go in the house, he drank some water and laid down. About an hour or so later when we were going to bed he was limping and would not put weight on the same leg as before. This time he seemed to be in a lot of pain. I was thinking he pulled a muscle or something when he was running. The next day my husband took him to the Vet. The Vet tried to manipulate his leg and knee (to check the ligament) but because of his fear of strangers and his strength they were not able to move his leg like they wanted. Again they gave us pain meds and anti-inflammatory medication. And again saying if he doesn't improve that we would need to sedate him to x-ray him. He was improving but still had a limp when we left for our vacation. He was staying with my parents while we were gone and at this point he was off medications and only taking the K9 Care Labs glucosamine. He is 115lbs so we have been giving him the extra amount of 4 tablets a day. I believe this is helping him a lot. Now that we are back we feel they still may be something going on with his leg because he's just not 100% but much better than before and doesn't have the limp. As much as I hate to put him through it we are going to get an X-ray so we can know exactly what is going on so we can help prevent any further damage. However we will continue using the glucosamine as I am sure it is doing a lot of good for him. Plus it's hard to find chewable tablets he will actually eat and that he doesn't have a reaction too. Our poor guy has food allergies too (he's a mess…LOL, but we love him dearly).K9 Labs is a wonderful company with OUTSTANDING customer service. They helped me in a jam when I needed some more tablets and they follow up with me on how my dog is doing. Although my dog isn't 100% just yet, I'm sure this product has definitely helped him recover and has been great for his joints.

Joint supplements
This is an excellent product and seems to be well liked by my dog. However the pills took ages to arrive but only because they were intercepted by Canadian customs and opened. I tried to find a Canadian source before I ordered.
