Timex Originals T49982 Mens Black Expedition Vibe Shock Chronograph Watch

OK, I see that I bought this watch over 4 years ago and it does not appear to be currently available but not discontinued. I just got back home from errands and found that the watch had fallen into a water collection bucket for my AC system. I thought it would be the end of it, but I pulled it out and it was perfectly fine, even though it only had 3 of the 4 screws securing the back (I had borrowed the battery from watch to use for my car key fob and lost screw in process) I am truly surprised that no water got into the watch. I mainly got this because I wanted a vibration alarm system (timer, alarm, chronograph); I previously had a Casio but the vibration was not very strong on it but this Timex was perfect. Would definitely purchase again, or similar, next time I need watch.

Awesome watch when you find it for close to $50. I use the countdown timers several times a day for keeping track of whatever I need. Laundry cycle is 20 minutes. OK. Set timer, go to hang shelves, timer goes off, and I do not miss the laundry cycle. I use them much more than the chronograph. The vibration alarm is great because it means I disturb no one when it goes off. If it had a solar cell to extend battery life, I'd pay more. But my current watch has lasted 18 months without a battery change, so it's not really a power hog.

I miss the hourly time signal, as well as hands free backlight. Alarm can be heard. Vibe alert can be felt. Backlight flashes. Changing back to "time," I like that I don't have to cycle through all the modes. Also like setting watch so that unused modes can be "hidden." Strap is flimsy.

Owned this watch for about 7 months, and am not impressed. Keeps time as expected, vibrating alarm is effective. Size is large but not crazy.My problems with this watch started about a month after I bought it. The button for the indiglo light stopped working consistently; Sometimes it would work, sometimes I would need to press the button ten or more times to get it to light up. Second problem is the plastic ring around the watch face: one section of the ring separated from the watch face about 3 months after purchasing the watch. I tried gluing the ring back onto the watch, which worked for a couple weeks until the rest of the ring detached. At this point, the plastic is stretched out and will not fit back in the groove. So now I can't glue it back in place and the exposed edge of the watch face looks like crap. So, this watch started out well but appears to have failed with some cheap parts.

Vibrating alarm works well, especially if you have hearing loss.

This watch has excellent features and I could not pass down the price. It actually has three time zones and alarms which is nice because I have to visit in another state and make plane connections

This watch is a great buy, well made, reliable and is built with many good features.
