Exact replacement for Nest Yale YRD 540
Not only does it work with my 8 yr old Nest Yale lock YRD540, it works GREAT! Someone who shall remain nameless (ok, my teenaged son) slammed the door so hard so many times while the old bolt was still extended that it bent to the point of no return. Had to remove it just to close the door. And then? Amazon once again for the win! Overnight delivered this and installed in literally seconds. Just push it in. Sure it’s not the old rectangle screw into the wood recessed mounting collar but as you can see some simple wood patch to fill the area flush which I did last night to let it dry and it slid in easily. Now just some primer and paint and good to go.NB: Took a second to remember how to extend it for the longer 2¾” backset my front door has since it comes pre-set at 2⅜. A quick google search had the answer: push the black button on the bottom to disengage a locking pin and yank it out to the next indent.
