Fastway Collection all the hits plus.
Upon splitting from Motörhead in 1982, guitarist Fast Eddie Clarke wasted no time putting together another band, Fastway. Those expecting another biker metal band must have been disappointed, 'cause Fastway smoothed out the rough edges of Clarke's previous band in favor of a far more radio-friendly sound. And the move seemed to work initially, as Fastway's 1983 self-titled debut outsold any Motörhead album in the U.S. -- spawning the MTV hit "Say What You Will." But the group was unable to sustain its initial success, and lasted for only a few more albums before pulling the plug. The 19-track overview Collection covers most of the bases, as it contains a healthy helping from the group's three best studio efforts: their aforementioned self-titled debut, 1984's All Fired Up, and 1986's Trick or Treat (the latter a soundtrack to an obscure, quite awful movie starring both Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne). Included are such highlights as "Trick or Treat," "The World Waits for You," and of course the aforementioned "Say What You Will" (not only their biggest hit, but probably the best of the bunch). Surprisingly, the set does not contain probably the best track from Trick or Treat, "After Midnight" (for which a video was filmed and aired on MTV's half-hour heavy metal show at the time).

Fastway-The Collection
This is a solid representation of Fastway. I normally find these packages to be lacking because they, without exception, leave out a number of worthy songs because the record companies want you to go buy all the albums anyway. That said, some of the Fastway cds are now out of print. As of July 2012 I can get "Fastway" (1983) & "Waiting for the Roar" (1985), their 1st & 3rd cds reissued, but if I want their 2nd cd "All Fired Up" (1984) I have to pay for the out of print original or get a 2 cd package of their first 2 albums. I find that those 2 cd packages are lacking due to the omission of most or all of the original album art.If you feel the same as I do then "collection" may be the way to go. You also get a couple of songs from the "Trick or Treat" (1986) soundtrack but nothing from the last 2 Fastway cds "On Target" (1988) & "Bad Bad Girls" (1990). I do feel they could've added a couple more tracks from the "Trick or Treat" soundtrack but maybe they figured that's easy to get anyway.

Waiting for the "release"
Fastway is one of the most under-rated bands of the 80's and early 90's. This collection is a pretty good represenative of the band and includes songs from what I feel is one of the best albums of all time--Waiting for the Roar. I am fortunate enough to have 2 copies of WFTR, and I would not give them up for anything. A couple of years ago, I would have probably bought this cd just for the first four tracks. I see by Amazon's sales ranking that this set is selling pretty good considering, so why won't some record company re-release WFTR and All Fired Up? I guess it's the same story as Twisted Sister's Come Out and Play--it took years for someone to release that one--Dee Himself.

メジャーには?
よくあるコメントで、捨て曲がないCDとして評価されるものである。もう少しインパクトがある曲が1曲でもあればメジャーになったかも。全体的にさらっと聞き流す曲が多い。

A little gem.
Led by Motorhead legend Fast Eddie Clarke, this is a real treat. Not as heavy as his previous band, dare I say it,some of the stuff borders on AOR,designed for American FM radio, but relax,it truly, truly rocks.Yes,the early material has elements of early 80's production values, with its drum sounds & keyboard tones, but don't be put off.The songs, are really good,& melodic. And blimey, what a fine singer Dave King was. However,I've got to talk about Eddie's guitar playing. He gets some fantastic,blues-based heavy rock tones, out of his Strat, without ever over-playing,for the sake of it.He doesn't need millions of over-layered guitar parts. His solos, have a tasteful begining/middle & an end. Great stuff...

Great nostalgia.
The tracks from the earlier albums is aggressive, powerful, and good. The tracks from Waiting For The Roar is a little more 'radio friendly' and not as good. The CD arrived promply and in mint condition.
