eDragon Polarized 3 Prong to 2 Prong Grounding Converter for AC Outlet, 10 Pack (ED71590)

These appear to be ok, but I didn't even use them. I based my purchase on two replies I received from other customers who said the male end prongs were identical in size, which is what I needed. These are polarized and have one prong larger than the other. I have a device that has a female end with openings (small) identical in size which is used for Christmas lights. The new Christmas lights are polarized, so they won't work in the device I have. If you are purchasing for a similar reason, these will NOT work. They will NOT allow you to plug new lights with one wider/larger/fatter prong end-to-end into the old lights that have the same size prong.

I was led to believe that these adapters had non-polarized male prongs (both prongs the same width).That is NOT the case; the male prongs are definitely polarized.So my search for a non-polarized adapter to accommodate older electrical outlets continues...

I live in a New York City apartment that is probably older than my septuagenarian parents, so there are few electrical outlets, and most of those are two prong. I own a lot of things that have three prong connectors, so I got these to make it possible for me to use things like power strips. This was a great purchase, and now I don't have to worry about not being able to use something because of the number of prongs its outlet connector has.

Disclaimer- one star for misleading photo and missing information. That said, these converters seem to be made solidly, provide the advertised conversion from 3-prong to 2-prong AC outlets, with the ability to properly connect a grounding wire. The prongs on these units are polarized (which they likely should be in this day and age), but the photo, to my eye, shows non-polarized prongs (which is exactly what I needed). Product description does not indicate whether they are polarized or non-polarized (as of December 2019). Some reviews even indicate that the prongs are non-polarized. The units I received are polarized and I will unfortunately need to return them.[For those who don't know, polarized means one prong is slightly larger than the other, so the prongs can only be placed in the electric outlet in one direction- it is a safety feature to ensure the wire containing electricity and the neutral wire are connected in the proper way. Older outlets are non-polarized cannot accept the larger "polarized" prong in these units- it simply won't fit in the slot. These converter units should work fine in most modern AC electric outlets. Just be sure you see one of the plug receptacles is longer than the other]

Not what I needed - based on FAQs and prior comments, assumed not polarized but they are and are not suitable for the job I need. Can find cheaper from other retailers exactly like this.

These are very cheap. You get what you pay for. They are made of a very soft rubber and get hot and melt very easy. Now I will take about 25% of the blame. I am in an old house. I have had at least 3 of the get smoked literally. This one I just caught. I smelled something burning and saw the prongs glowing and smoking. It got so hot I felt it through the wall about 10 inches about the plug. Please use extreme cause if you reside to purchase these.

My one star rating is based on the prongs being two different sizes, which is in direct contrast to those replies in the Q&A section for this product. It feels as if it is a study enough product but I can't comment on how well it functions due to the prongs being different sizes. Again THE PRONGS ARE TWO DIFFERENT SIZES and it would be nice if the seller could address this issue so that people won't be making the same mistake as myself.

I live in an older home where none of the sockets for a design for a three prong plug. These are handy three prong to two prong grounding converters and they come in very handy. I like the bright orange color because in the past I only found them and gray and of course they would get lost in the toolbox and the junk drawer.
