TruContour Firm Thin Memory Foam Pillow - Perfect for Stomach and Back Sleeping, Only 3 in Thick, Slim, Flat, Low Profile

I've got pretty severe sleep apnea, and recently discovered it's made considerably worse by big, fluffy pillows (which also encourage me to sleep on my side and back instead of my stomach). I went looking locally for nice, flatter pillows suitable for stomach sleeping, but found that most of them were outrageously expensive. So, I ordered this inexpensive pillow from Amazon.It's pretty good, especially for the price. There is a slight chemical smell from the foam, but that's to be expected. It seems to be fading after a couple of weeks. The cover it comes with is pretty high-quality, although my standard pillow protectors fit it as well. That's actually something of a surprise, because it seems very broad and flat.I got the "soft" pillow, and it isn't particularly soft, but it's not uncomfortable either. My sleep apnea is generally greatly improved when using this pillow - even on nights when I'm fairly congested - and the low height means I tend to sleep exclusively on my stomach now, or rolled only slightly onto my side.So far I'm pretty happy with this purchase. Hopefully the pillow will hold up well over time, and the slight odor will continue to fade (if you weren't buried face down in the pillow, the odor probably wouldn't even be noticeable). I'd definitely recommend it to sleep apnea sufferers who are looking to use positional therapy to combat their sleep disorder.

I have a very short neck and I sleep on my side and stomach. Regular pillows are too tall and they hurt my neck. The soft ones aren't good because they cover my mouth and nose when I'm on my side or stomach. This pillow is the right height for me and it's firm. Even though it's firm, for me it's very comfortable. I've tried other pillows and I won't be going back to any of the others. I recommend this if you have a shorter neck and want something firm.Update: I've had this pillow for two years and it's just as good as it was when I ordered it. It's still extremely comfortable. I can fold it in half and unfold it and the shape will go back to normal with no creases or damage. It hasn't gone flat and it's still firm as I need it to be.

I had been using the same pillow for close to 20-years (I know.. gross right?) Anyhow, it was just a normal feather pillow (I think) that became matted down year after year. I would take the pillow with me on vacation to avoid the super fluffy, extra thick pillows that most hotels seem to have that always gave me neck and back issues. One day I decided to wash my pillow and in the process... well, I killed it. So I headed out looking for a new pillow. 5 returned pillows later I came across this particular one. I had a good feeling about it when I took it out of the packaging and sure enough it's just about the perfect pillow for me. Not too thick, not too soft, not too firm (by the way I ordered the Soft pillow not the Firm one.) My wife has a foam pillow that I tried but it was too thick and contoured (sort of like a wave) that was very irritating. It was meant to be slept on in a particular direction, which I didn't like and a problem that this pillow does not have as it is the exact same size and width on either side or either direction. It also comes with a "organic cotton" pillow case (says so right on the pillow) that is soft and comfortable as well. This pillow is probably not right for everyone because each person has their own particular likes and dislikes. However this pillow is exactly as described. If you are a back or stomach sleeper that needs a low profile to avoid back and neck pains... this one might be right for you. It is for me :)

its definetly a thin pillow but there are some things that take getting used to.....i ordered the "soft" version and its still not exactly soft.it takes a good bit of pressure to "smoosh" it.if u sleep on your stomach with your arms under your pillow and one leg fliped out be prepared for a weird struggle of getting the thing placed right.its foldable but its finicky.side sleepers.....you will face the same struggle with folding and fighting the things edges from poping up in your face.back sleepers.....you will fold it a bunch of times and it will pop up on the sides of your head.PEOPLE WITH RINGING IN THE EARS.......i have tinnitus and its taken alot to get used to memory foam pillows,once you lay your ear on it you cant hear anything but the ringing in your ears.it blocks out to much sound.also once you think you have the thing right it will either smoosh more,pop up on you slowly or get so compact its like laying on a rock.i wish i could get a firmer cotton THIN pillow but that seems impossible with this memory foam fad.over all not worth the obsurd $40 a pillow price.id say get a $5 COTTON pillow and pin it under something until it flattens and you will be MUCH happyier.

I wasn't sure if I'd like this pillow when I ordered it. I have ordered other memory foam pillows and they were comfy, but too high and made my neck hurt. I was hoping this would not be too low, being only 3". It is just the slightest bit too low, but that was easily remedied by my putting a folded hand towel in my pillow case, which raised it up to the perfect height. (Finding the right height is tricky given the different firmness of mattresses, so I don't blame the pillow manufacturers at all.) I have slept so well with this pillow. I have experienced no neck pain. I used to toss and turn a lot and thought it was my mattress, but since getting this pillow I hardly toss and turn at all. I realize now that my old pillow was the problem. I am so surprised about how much I love this pillow. It is not too hard or soft for me. It has no odor. It is just great! I highly recommend.
