Work well for my purposes...
I have yet to use these wedges for their intended purpose of felling. Instead, I use them as shims for my Alaskan chainsaw mill to support slabs as I cut. The orange color makes them easy to locate in the piles of sawdust milling generates. My usages as shims is not nearly as abusive as felling would be. I have had to drive these wedges on a few occasions using a non-marring, 4#, dead-blow hammer consisting of a similar polymer to do so. I can see where using a harder material like a metal axe head or sledgehammer might damage these wedges. The reason for 4-Stars is the price could be better and I personally don't believe these wedges have the structural integrity to stand up to professional duty felling. Nonetheless, they work great for my purpose.

Wedges make life simpler!
I liked the fact they were soft with no damage to my chain saw . The wind blew over a 50 foot tree. The majority of the limbs were eight to 10 inches in diameter. The saws were constantly being pinched and slowing down work. I bought the six pack , giving my son three. We made the tree disappear in about four days.

Break too easily.
Maybe these would be better if I was hitting them with some kind of rubber sledgehammer, but if you drive them into your back cut with a sledgehammer or the back of your axe, they smash up pretty quickly. I gave them 3 stars because they're inexpensive and, if everything goes right on every tree, they'll probably last longer, but as soon as you need to drive them hard, they're going to get smashed in and/or break.Long story short, these are probably good enough for a homeowner who cuts down a tree every once in a blue moon, or just wants to keep his/her saw from getting pinched when cutting up firewood, but they aren't good enough for someone who does a lot of felling. Unless you feel like finding a rubber sledgehammer and lugging it around, I'd pass if you drop more than 6 trees a year.

Great basic vedges
These are excellent with this price. Small so they fit into your pockets easily while working. Used them now few times and they really can take some banging and are tough.
