Review: Genuine T&B cable ties. (Depending on the seller.) - From reading some other reviews, I see that people aren’t always receiving a genuine T&B product. I bought mine through Windy City Supply. They arrived in heat sealed packages, with a yellow sticker on them. I contacted the vendor and verified that the ones I received are genuine. (They buy in bulk and repackage them in smaller quantities, which is fine, because it saves money and I don’t need 1,000 of them.) Getting a genuine product is important. You’re paying a premium price, for a premium product. You should get what you’re paying for. T&B cable ties, are the gold standard for cable ties. They have all of the proper ratings and live up to them. They surpass all other cable ties, when it comes to strength, temperature range, UV resistance, etc. If you don’t receive genuine T&B cable ties, you should return them, at the vendor’s expense. Don’t accept substitutes! With all of that out of the way, I highly recommend these cable ties. I’ve used them, professionally, for over 25 years. If you don’t need the highest performance cable ties, you can probably get away with using cheaper brands. However, when you need them to last, and last a long time, Thomas & Betts are the ones to get. One of the best features of these, is the continuous tightening. Have you ever been using a cable tie, that was too loose, but you couldn’t make it to the next ‘click’? That won’t happen with these. Because of the design, they will tighten continuously. You’ll never be trying for that next ‘click’.

**Q: Label on packages does not show part number "ty528mx". how am i suppose to know that i received the correct part?**
A: You look at the item on Amazon once you receive it and the length and with should be the same. If not, then return them. Wrong item sent. 👍

**Q: Are they better than stainless steel zip ties?**
A: Better in what way/application? They’re Nylon so there’s an upper temperature limit as compared to metal. They’re plastic so they are an electrical insulator. Metal ties are generally stronger but less flexible. What is your intended use?

**Q: Are they suitable for PV use?**
A: I have used them for PV for a number of years now, they seem to hold up well!

**Q: Are these "Reusable" ?**
A: They are not made with a release mechanism built into them, so no they are not sold as reusable. But, if you have a tiny screwdriver you typically can lift the metal locking tongue and release them. Or if you cut them right before the locking piece you can reuse them for a shorter requirement next time. Cheers!
