Amazing Book - History and the Dog in it

The dog named Judy was truly amazing. The author wrote the story on a way that made me feel I was looking back in time and seeing the story as it unfolds. I would give it 1000 stars if I could. Worth the price for sure

This author does an excellent job intertwining Judy's life story with the horrific historical events of her journey and the many that experienced it with her. Details of battles, the ships, artillery, geographics, etc. were informative enough to educate, creating the settings and climate of the atrocities of war without operating manual style minutia that can turn many readers off. Especially those of us interested in a book that is supposed to be about a dog (there are plenty of other books detailing how boats, guns and planes operate). Nor is there any of the modern day politically correct guilt ridden falseness about the Allies in WWII or bashing of the Allied Forces. Judy: The Unforgettable Story of the Dog Who Went to War and Became a True Hero is perfect for both dog lovers and appreciators of unbiased, accurately presented history.

I am always looking for true stories - especially about people and events I don't know much about. This book is about the men taken prisoners of war by the Japanese and an absolutely amazing dog woven into their story. It is well written and absorbing. I was sorry it had to end! I would recommend to anyone.

This book not only is about a courageous, smart dog, but I learned so much about the war that transpired and the way the POWs were treated. A real eye opener.

Heroic dog, heroic men, enduring such sadistic treatment in the POW camps. How some of them survived it all is incredible. This book tells it all. Lest We Forget.

It's hard to believe what happened in WW2 what they went through , and how some survived, lived to tell their story, I cried all through this book , Judy bought tears to my eyes such a wonderful dog ❤️

One of the most amazing stories I have ever read. I had never heard of the war with China Japan Korea in the mid 1930's and the railway those poor men had to build which eventually never got used. Probably just as well as it was a death job. I loved Judy and her intuitions that saved the men on so many occasions. Wonderful story I couldn't put it down.
