China Glaze The Great Outdoors Nail Lacquer, Gone Glamping, 0.5 Fluid Ounce

This nail polish is so thin. I had to apply about 6 coats to get the lovely holographic colour and effect. Looks really stunning however, it took so long to dry hence my 3 star review. It did smudge a few times due to the number of coats but that didn't matter as I just applied another coat on top. I had to apply quick dry liquid on top to speed the drying process which is something I don't do often. In the end I used a cold setting on my hair dryer and it dried pretty quickly.

I always put this on and initially think “why did I do this? It’s too much like me” (I’m brown skinned) and then after the second coat I examine my nails and see how it takes on a pinkish hue which makes it so much more interesting! The colour isn’t flat, it holds the interest by transforming slightly - but enough to be noticeable. I would’ve thought the effect would be as pleasing whatever your skin colour but if you want flat, orangey bronze, this isn’t it.

I bought this nail polish as a stocking filler for my daughter, thinking it was a gel polish for use with a UV lamp (my fault, didn't read the details properly). However my daughter tried it straightaway and was delighted with the effect. In certain lights the varnish is purple, in other lights it appeared green. Being a traditional polish she wasn't expecting it to last too long but it actually lasted 5 days before chipping, which is something of a record for her.
