Bought this as a gift for my Mother. I personally hate that she insists on using a composting bin in the house. So this bin needed to look nice on the counter, easy to carry to the compost site, not smell, and keep those nasty little bugs away. This composting bin does all of those things BUT keep those darn bugs away. Tiny little gnats are sitting on the outside of this container. It's gross and I don't like it. Now I got to get a gnat killer....but the composting bin did improve the appearance of the kitchen counters.

I wanted to get dedicated scrap bin for the kitchen since we have decided to start composting. I read that this has a filter and wasn't actually expecting it to work. But it does! This bin sits on our counter full of a weeks worth of scraps and doesn't smell at all. Banana peels, orange peels, coffee grounds, egg shells...they all go in here and then some, but no stink! It's big enough that you can put a decent amount of scraps in it, but not so huge that it is hogging the counter top.If you are looking for scrap container for your kitchen, look no further...this is it.

It is a very nice size and doesn't look bad sitting on the counter in the kitchen. I'm not sure that we will actually compost in this bucket because it usually fills up quickly and we add it to the garden compost. I do like the lid and the filter. I'm glad that we bought it.

I wanted something that looks classy on my kitchen counter, but I didn't want it to be huge and heavy or breakable. This metal pot is perfect! It is sturdy and the lid fits well and keeps in the odors. The can looks white in the photo, but it is actually a creamy off-white. It is big enough to handle lots of trimmings, but it does not use up a lot of counter space. I shopped around for a long time before I found exactly what I wanted. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

I love my little composting bin! I bought this for my counter and my new house. I cook a lot and have tons of scraps that I like to use in my compost bin. We put everything in this composting bin and then when it's full, we take it out. The carbon filters do a great job masking any odor. Even when it was really warm this summer you couldn't smell the composting bin. I am thrilled with my purchase!!!

We have used this compost bin for a little over 2 months now and while it seems sturdy and looks attractive, the paint on ours is starting to chip around the base and there are a couple of places on the underside of the lid along the round edges that the paint is cracking and it looks a little rusty. We have only ever hand washed this to clean it and it doesn't otherwise get a lot of moisture. We are past our send back date though so I guess we'll just have to live with it until it gets bad enough to throw out. I like the product, just wish it would have held us aesthetically for a little longer.

I am extremely happy with this bin. I was concerned when I purchased it because I have a very small kitchen, and a very good nose. The filter keeps the food waste well aerated so that they don't stink when you open the canister, and it doesn't let any odor out when the cap is on.

Attractive, more so (to us) than stainless steel versions, which look like something waiting to receive medical waste in a doctor's office. The odor-trapping lid seems to work. We are using compostable bags, certified by BPI (look for their logo), along with the bin.
