Meanwhile ...
While everyone else tries to figure out what "genre" this album is or is not, I'll be sitting here listening to it on repeat. Great album; at times catchy and rockin', while some songs are gentle and outright beautiful. Love the classic vibe with some punk leanings. Can't wait for the next one --hopefully will be a little sooner than it took to get "V" :-)

Classic Tiger Army, a Return to Form.
Psychobilly with fantastic vocals and a theremin, what's not to love.

A little less psychobilly than Tiger Army's previous albums. However, Nick 13 remains a solid songwriter and that is showcased well on V.

Great record
I'm only familiar with their first album so it came as quite a surprise to hear how much Tiger Army have mellowed. I'm a big fan of Gene Vincent and other 50s/60s rock'n'roll singers, and there's a lot of evidence of that influence in this album, even touches of orchestral camp a la Phil Spector but with a much clearer, sparser, more lonesome mix. The lead vocal is right up in the mix in the style of that era of singers, but the music goes way beyond the band's rockabilly roots, with strings and keys in abundance. There's also kind of a Morrissey and 80s indie pop influence that rears its head here and there which works a lot better than it ought to! I've been listening to this album a lot and whistling it while I've been at work, the melodies really stick in your head and the lyrics deal with heartache and night time for the most part.

A slightly different approach garnering a great album
A great return of Tiger Army it has been too long since their last album however the break seems to have done them good. This album is a mix of their psychobilly, rockabilly roots, with just a sprinkling of indie rock and poppy melodies and some country elements and a slightly more 50's overall sound to it. This is a great album and a change for Tiger Army too

Sehr gute Entwicklung..

Few bands could say "nailed it" on a fifth record. They did.
