Review: Great budget binoculars. - Reviewing these after having them in use for a couple of months. For the money they seem to be a great choice. Image brightness & clarity is very good but does blur a tiny bit at the edges, although this isn’t a major problem. I’ve put the waterproofing to the test in some really bad weather & seen no issues here. They appear to be well made & robust & I’ve been very happy with them. Some will be wondering & yes they’re made in China but, so were an Olympus set I checked out... At almost twice the price! Image quality wasn’t significantly better either. Review: Impressive compact binoculars! - Very nice compact bins. I am a birdwatcher, so I have had a lot of regular size and compact bins over the years. I also worked for Wild Birds Unlimited, where we sold Eagle Optics (no longer in business) and other brands including Swarovski, so I’m familiar with the level of quality and what to expect from certain brands (though these days there are a lot of newer, unfamiliar brands competing in the market, too). I keep a pair of bins on my bike, in the garage, in my car, in the house. You just never know! 😉 These are a good quality bin for a great price. What I am most impressed with is the ability to focus the right lens accurately. I have poor eyesight (glasses since second grade!) and a slight astigmatism in my right eye. These can be adjusted perfectly for me. Much better that way than a number of bins I have bought over the years. Even though eye relief is only 14.8 (recommendation for those who wear glasses is a minimum of 16), they are fine for me. Very happy with these. Update: Four years later, and I’m still happy with quality. However…and this is always a problem here in FL…the center of the bins has deteriorated and become very sticky. Happens with everything here that has *any* kind of rubber coating on it, even inside the house. I have had to throw out other compact bins because they were just a mess. I rectified issue by putting some Glad Wrap over the middle. The rest of the bins are fine, material has held up well. I’ve done the Glad Wrap thing with other stuff, like a nice pair of scissors that has a rubber handle and got all sticky after only one year here. Works like a charm! ## Features - International products have separate terms are sold from abroad and may differ from local products including fit age ratings and language of product labeling or instructions - COMPACT BINOCULARS PERFECTLY DESIGNED FOR BIRD WATCHING For the GO ANYWHERE EXPERIENCE - ERGOCOMFORT NON-SLIP GRIP MEANS YOU CAN WATCH BIRDS OUTDOOR GAMES OR CONCERTS FOR HOURS without missing a single moment! - Brand: Wingspan - Mounting type: Tripod Mount - Special feature: Magnification: 8X - Material: Glass - Lens Coating description: Anti-Reflective - Focus type: Center Focus - Mounting type: Pocket ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B01AHC6IZG | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Age range (description) | Adult | | Apparent Angle of View | 6.9 Degrees | | Best Sellers Rank | #147,543 in Electronics ( See Top 100 in Electronics ) #643 in Binoculars | | Brand | Wingspan | | Coating | Anti-Reflective | | Color | Black-8x32: FieldView | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,330 Reviews | | Diopter Adjustment Range | ±3 diopters | | Enclosure Material | Glass | | Exit-Pupil Diameter | 4.00 | | Eye Relief | 14.8 Millimeters | | Features | Eye Relief: 14.8mm, Field of View: 356ft/1000yds, Lens coating: Fully multi-coated, Magnification: 8X, Prism Type: BaK-4, Roof Prism | | Field of View | 356 Feet | | Focus Description | Manual Focus | | Focus Type | Center Focus | | Item Dimensions L x W | 11.4L x 11.4W centimeters | | Item Weight | 15.2 Ounces | | Magnification Maximum | 8 x | | Manufacturer | Wingspan Optics | | Manufacturer Part Number | PS - 83201 | | Max. magnification | 8 x | | Model Name | compact binoculars | | Model Number | PS - 83201 | | Mount Type | Tripod Mount | | Objective Lens Diameter | 32 Millimeters | | Objective lens diameter | 32 Millimeters | | Prism Type | roof prism, BaK-4 | | Relative Brightness | 4 | | Size Map | Compact | | Special features | Eye Relief: 14.8mm, Field of View: 356ft/1000yds, Lens coating: Fully multi-coated, Magnification: 8X, Prism Type: BaK-4, Roof Prism Special features Eye Relief: 14.8mm, Field of View: 356ft/1000yds, Lens coating: Fully multi-coated, Magnification: 8X, Prism Type: BaK-4, Roof Prism See more | | Specific Uses | Bird Watching | | Specific uses for product | Bird Watching | | UPC | 706695920189 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Waterproof | | Zoom Ratio | 8 multiplier_x | ## Product Details - **Age range (description):** Adult - **Brand:** Wingspan - **Max. magnification:** 8 x - **Objective lens diameter:** 32 Millimeters ## Images ![Wingspan Optics Spectator 8X32 Compact Bird Watching Binoculars - Lightweight and Compact for Hours of Bright, Clear Bird Watching -Great for Outdoor Sports Games and Concerts - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71orXI4i4iL.jpg) ![Wingspan Optics Spectator 8X32 Compact Bird Watching Binoculars - Lightweight and Compact for Hours of Bright, Clear Bird Watching -Great for Outdoor Sports Games and Concerts - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/613iEJFL+NL.jpg) ![Wingspan Optics Spectator 8X32 Compact Bird Watching Binoculars - Lightweight and Compact for Hours of Bright, Clear Bird Watching -Great for Outdoor Sports Games and Concerts - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Op6xsWiLL.jpg) ![Wingspan Optics Spectator 8X32 Compact Bird Watching Binoculars - Lightweight and Compact for Hours of Bright, Clear Bird Watching -Great for Outdoor Sports Games and Concerts - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71rf-Oe9ocL.jpg) ![Wingspan Optics Spectator 8X32 Compact Bird Watching Binoculars - Lightweight and Compact for Hours of Bright, Clear Bird Watching -Great for Outdoor Sports Games and Concerts - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Tbn4QtbJL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: I'd be takign this out on a stand up paddle board on the ocean. Are these waterproof?** A: You don't want to submerge them. They will stand up to fresh water splashes but not full out dunks. I'm comfortable taking them in a kayak but not on my board. **Q: what are the dimensions while folded?** A: They’re 2” x 4” x 4.5” when folded. They’re not something that you can tuck into a pocket. But, your vision with them is terrific! **Q: Do these work well with children?** A: Good size for kids and anything smaller than 32 seems to make it difficult for them to find the object. Bigger sizes make the binoculars themselves heavy. I like these and would recommend you give kids lots of instructions and practice. **Q: Does it come with a case** A: Yes.... Nice case. The strap is not too nice. There's a very nice one for sale on Amazon for 7 or 8 bucks. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great budget binoculars. *by M***R on 4 November 2018* Reviewing these after having them in use for a couple of months.
