Don't you dare Zomm away from your phone!
Before I get to the overview of my ZOMM, I do like to say that it is a decent product, though it is not high quality (unless it can be improved).-Wireless leash: The wireless leash feature is perhaps the most useful feature of the ZOMM. Unlike some of the other reviewers, my ZOMM never went into a false alarm, unless I accidently turn off my phone. Walking out of the Bluetooth range will cause it to vibrate, then flash before the buzzer kicks in. This is a neat feature of the ZOMM to help people keep track of their phone.-Speakerphone: Ok, but not great. The speakerphone feature on the ZOMM does NOT provide a high quality sound (even when compared to a speakerphone on your cell phone). It's miniature speaker is being overdriven and sometimes, when you press the "Z" button the speaker does not come on and you have to switch to the ZOMM option on your phone to get it through the speaker. I seriously do NOT recommend using it when you're driving, since not only is that feature frustrating and only provide low quality sound, but it can be just as dangerous to use speakerphone when you are steering as if you are putting your phone to your ear.-Panic alarm; Not very well designed. The panic alarm feature requires you to hold the "Z" button for 9 seconds before the siren goes off. If you are being attacked by a madman and you try to activate the siren, your attack would most likely hit you or snatch the ZOMM away before the 9 second mark, forcing you to release the button and making it useless as a panic alarm. And even if you were to hold the button down past the 9 second mark, you will be disappointed by the volume level of the alarm, since the siren does NOT seem to be much louder than a typical alarm clock (though this is understandable, since it only uses a miniature dynamic speaker and not a high-efficiency piezoelectric speaker). It is not going to get a lot of attention and the attacker might just laugh it off. However, the emergency call feature (activates if you hold it down for 15 seconds) may be helpful, if instead of you being attacked by a bad guy, you had a fall and you had the ZOMM connected to your phone, you can hold it past the siren and program the ZOMM to dial 911, you can quickly get help. I did not test the feature due to the law against calling 911 during a non-emergency situation. Even though the siren may NOT be enough to scare off an attacker, it is still a little bit loud, so you may have to get ready for it and hope it does not make your situation worse if you have a heart attack..Overall, it is a neat product if you just want a wireless leash. Not so useful as a speakerphone nor a panic alarm since the speaker is not designed to be excessively loud nor is it very clear.

Would be great if it worked like it should.
I have two issues with the Zomm:First, Siri on the iPhone gets confused when the Zomm is connected because it thinks you want to talk through it. So every time I want to use Siri, I have to go through one failed attempt before it figures out it needs to use the phone's microphone and then it starts working again (though I just tested it now and it won't work at all).Second, I keep it in my pocket and it is surprisingly easy to activate the emergency feature unintentionally (actually did it just today). The button can get compressed when I kneel down and then all of a sudden I hear, "Dialing emergency services" and have a little panic. Thank goodness I set it up to call my wife and not 911 or I'd probably be in jail for all the times I'd have called 911 unintentionally. I imagine it would work better in a purse but I still wouldn't actually assign 911 as the emergency number. I also deactivated the panic alarm because I kept setting that off too, which is embarrassing.I could see the Zomm being really valuable to a woman who wants the added security of a quick and easy way to call for help and could also keep it in her purse where it's less likely to be accidentally activated. However, I do think there could be a more effective way of ensuring the button isn't depressed unintentionally and the Siri problem is a major irritation. So far the Zomm has saved me maybe once from leaving my phone in a cold car overnight and it only takes once to pay for itself.

Pros and Cons
I didn't have the ease of use that others stated. I couldn't figure out something so I went to the Zomm.com site and found broken links to support pages I needed. Then I got an email from the seller (not the manufacturer) asking me to tell them any problems before I posted my review. After that I got a cryptic email that said, and I'm paraphrasing, well that's not me, that's the manufacturer's website. OK, fine. However, regardless of whose site it is, the broken links should be fixed.I bought two of these. This particular one (the pink) had all the components and was obviously new. However, I also purchased the blue one. It came in a box that had been taped together, missing a significant cord and thankfully since I had purchased two, I can use this order's cords to service the other one that's missing the cords. I'm not sending the blue one back for that reason. All that said, once I figured it out, it is a pretty nifty thing. I went out of the country last week and walked away from my phone a couple of times. The alarm went off and reminded me to go get it.Haven't figured out how to answer my phone yet so I cannot speak to the sound quality. Nor have I used it to call 911. I think that's one of those things you can't test until you need it.
