his best????
i am a fan of jazz but not of the traditional variety.was never a will downing fan at all.but when i heard that he re-made angela bofills' "i try",i thought that was crazy.definitely not a fan of remakes but i listen to them to see what injustice an artist do to them.but to my suprise, will's rendition does the original outstanding justice.even though it will never come close to the original,(due to my bias and because i love ms.bofill so much).i must admit that i can't imagine another artist doing it any better.not ron isley, not even luther vandross.that one song alone gives this album 3 stars.job well done mr.downing.

A Jazz/R&B Fusion Vocal Dream Fulfilled
Signature Downing. A showcase of jazz/R&B fusion vocals from a baritone who owns his voice & works its tones & frequencies to the fullest. His rendition of Angela Bofill's "I Try" is definitely a dream fulfilled. This album represents perhaps his best range of material preformed at the peak of his vocal potency.

Most important album Downing ever made, simple as that.
Will Downing's 3rd album was the one that finally helped him forge the musical path he ended up taking from that point onward. Instead of blindly chasing mainstream "fool's gold" on the Billboard charts at the time like so many of his short-sighted contemporaries have done for better or worse (mainly the latter, lol), he firmly stood his ground and let his profound artistry speak for itself. This might've cost him quite a bit of widespread commercial appeal in the long run, but it has also rewarded him as well as his devoted following with a wealth of quality material that continues to stand the test of time. 1991's 'A Dream Fulfilled' still remains his most definitive musical statement on record, however. For those who rather prefer "adult-oriented" R&B with a healthy dose of quiet-storm jazziness for good measure, please give Downing a shot with this album. Trust me, you WON'T be disappointed!

Hands down my all time favorite Will!
This album is my intro to Will Downing. Of course, I own everything else including the British album since then. His tone and stories blend so well together. I strongly suggest this album if you don't already have it.
