Travelon Anti-Theft Classic Waist Pack

This has been perfect for my vacation! I can put my iPhone X in a slim case in the cell phone pocket, but just barely. However, that pocket doesn't zip or even close. Instead, I use my larger case for my phone and secure my phone in the larger of the two locking zippered compartments. It has enough slots to hold enough credit cards for my trip. It also has a pocket large enough for a passport. However, I'm still unclear as to whether that pocket is RFID-protected or not. In the product video, it doesn't look that way, but in the description, it sounds like it is. I love that the clip to remove the bag from your waist has an extra locking latch plus a thick fabric cover to deter pickpockets. My only gripe is that the latch has to be set to work. It does not automatically go to the locked position when closing the strap around my waist, and I often forget to lock the latch. It takes me two hands to open anything on this bag, so I think it would at least slow down or perhaps deter a pickpocket. This fits my 42" waist without having the end of the belt hang down like some reviewers with smaller waists have mentioned. The water bottle holder is a nice touch, but I haven't used it since I use a Hydroflask. There are four pockets on this bag: 2 main pockets which are both secured with locking zippers, 1 slash pocket to hold your cell phone for easy access (pocket does not have a closure), and one pocket in which there is tucked a mesh water bottle holder and there is no room for anything else in that pocket. I think this is well worth the price. This is a great product!

Very well made. Seems to be excellent quality. Very spacious and can hold a lot. It even has a hidden water bottle holder. The zippers pull smoothly and the anti-theft features appear to be very useful. It's just too big for what I need.

I bought this because I travel with lots of stuff in my pockets and this allows me to have everything in one place. Two easily accessible large zippered pockets with a claw type lock which prevents the zippers from being opened by a pickpocket. The waist belt is heavy duty and is adjustable and comfortable. You can tighten it without removing it. I wear it all day and don't feel it. No interference getting my zipper down in the men's room. The latch is hidden so a pickpocket can't take it off of you. I carry my passport, airline tickets, wallet, keys, medicines, cell phone, receipts and miscellaneous small stuff like dental floss and can find any of these when I want to and nothing falls out when I open it. It's easy to put things in and take things out. When i go through security at the airport I put all the stuff that I have in my pockets in this pack so I just have to take the one belt off and push it through the machine. This is the bast fanny pack I have ever owned and at 70 yrs old, I know what I talking about. Never had a problem.

This bag was a replacement for the same item purchased many years ago but damaged by over-stuffing. The old one was almost perfect, although it could have been slightly larger. Its waist strap was so long that I found it more useful as a cross-body bag. The new replacement is almost identical but has a shorter strap, still useable cross-body. It also lacks one very useful inside zippered pocket that the old bag had. The new item's zippers and zipper pull hooks are less sturdy than on the older bag. This item is still adequate but of reduced quality.

This waist pack was great for day trips during a tour. It is not a backpack, it's a hands-free substitute for a purse or other small bag. As long as you remember that, you'll be very happy with it. The front compartment is too narrow for a coin purse or even a flat wallet. But the internal pockets for your passport and credit cards, and the internal zippered compartment, substitute nicely for those. (Please note, however, that you can't get 6 credit cards in it nicely - the bottom slot on each side is sewn into the angle of the pack, so the bottom cards would stick up at an angle.) There's even a pen holder. The larger compartment is still small - I put in a sunglasses case, a portable charger, a packet of tissues, and half a sandwich, and that took up most of the space. The internal zippered compartment in this section worked great for the usual assortment of small things - gum, pen, etc. My personal favorite part of the pack turned out to be the open pocket behind the two main zippered compartments. It was big enough to hold my iPhone 6 (regular, not Plus) easily and securely, but still in such an accessible way that I could grab the phone easily for all those quick times I wanted a picture or to look at a map app or to text someone at home, without having to unzip one of the zippered sections. The pack must have been improved since the reviews that complained about the strap hanging down - it now comes with a elastic band around the strap so you can adjust it to your waist with no excess strap hanging down (as long as you're not too small - pay attention to the strap length as described!). I also loved the little holster for a small water bottle - it zips into its own little compartment on the strap when you don't want it, and holds a 1/2 liter plastic bottle perfectly when you do want it. (A taller bottle might be top-heavy). I didn't notice either the holster or the weight of the water, so it wasn't a problem to lug around. A couple of features I didn't remember from the description were caribiner hooks on the zipper pulls so you could fasten them in to the rings when closed, and a locking mechanism for the strap clasp (which is also covered) - all good anti-theft features.

Overall I really like this waist pack. The main compartment and strap system is well made. However, there are 2 big negatives: 1. The drink holder mesh seam has torn open and my drink bottle can fall through the hole. It’s now useless after just a few months of light use. 2. There is a little band to hold the excess strap in place when tightened around your waist but it does a really poor job as it moves too easily so the excess strap just flops around. If your waist size is anything up to 38”, you’ll have this annoying problem.

Great price high quality with all the anti theft protection you are looking for at half the cost of other websites. Larger than a regular fanny pack or cross body, a little bulky due the city proof material being stuff. Adjustable waist band has a cover over the buckle. I love that I can use it as a cross body or fanny/ waist pack. I added an Apple ID tag for extra safety.

Used all over Italy and Paris including Disney. Lightweight and plenty of room for glasses, wallet, documents and more without feeing bulky. Terrific safety features too!
