Watch Back Case Opener Screw Type Cover Remover Opening Tool Mini Play Ball Kit-Color Random

Before I acquired this ball I was able to remove two screw-on backs from watches by using a rubber lid opener grip for jar tops. However, this would not work on another watch as the back was on so tight it wouldn't budge. So I thought I'd give this ball a try. I had no luck with it at first and it seemed to me that the watch back was almost vacuum sealed. In the end I worked around the rim of the back with a watchmaker's knife to try and break the apparent vacuum seal and this helped (you have to be careful of course not to slip and scratch the back). After that the ball removed the back very easily and it worked without problem on the other two watches. As one reviewer noted, which I would second, if you can't remove the back of a new watch with this ball it might be best to have it loosened professionally at first. After that the ball should work with no problem.

Too large for women’s watches.

Tried it on day of receipt -- opened and closed the one watch I have with screw back. OK, what I wanted!

It did not work as well as I expected. It ultimately did the job but with a lot of effort.

It was a little hard to use at first, but eventually worked. The back of the watch was very tight and difficult to get off with other tools. This made it easier.

Ball might work if band attachment points were not “elevated”. These attachment points (on a Bertucci watch) do not allow a ball of this size to make adequate contact with the watch back.

Great product. Took about 15 seconds to get the back off the watch that 2 jewelers couldn't. Put watch in palm of my hand, pushed ball onto back and turned. Voila, back opened, battery changed, put back on the reverse of removing. About 25 of my watches are screw on backs, so this will save me money on battery changes! Thank you fir a great product. I'm very happy as I was skeptical when I ordered it.

I was a little skeptical of this, but I figured I would give it a whirl. I own a high quality jaxa wrench, but cringe every time I use it because one slip, and your caseback is ruined. I understand that these are easier to use if the caseback has been opened, before. That is probably true. However, I used it on a never-before-opened Scurfa Diver One to swap the 371 cell and it opened without difficulty. Very pleased.
