Fable Bench - African Mahogany and Carved Oak

Hand Crafted - Named for Aesop's fable "The Oak and the Reed" this African Mahogany and oak bench leans at a 75 degree angle to give it a unique stance as if it's blowing in the wind. A stark composition of dark red hues and weathered oak, the oak was hand carved to give the appearance a branch is reaching out to hold the solid crisp mahogany bench. The Mahogany bench top is an impressive 1.5" Thick and the grain flows uninterrupted down the angle from the end of the bench to the floor. **African Mahogany wood has a unique light-refracting optical phenomenon known as chatoyancy. Light and angles will make it shimmer and the rays in the wood will show different under light and dark. As well the red can darken with age** The oak "branch" will be unique to each piece and is available in bleached maple, ebonized black oak, and the weathered gray oak as shown.
